Like your rom-coms with a twist of murder? Then you’ll love the new Peacock series, ‘Laid’
Stephanie Hsu stars in this twisted tale of love, death, and second chances.
Romantic comedy TV shows are having a great comeback with the likes “Nobody Wants This” and the action version “Mr. & Mrs. Smith,” while murder mysteries are always in style, from “Only Murders in the Building” to “The Afterparty.” So, it’s no surprise that Peacock is putting their hands together and launching a rom-com murder mystery in the form of the new dark comedy TV series, “Laid.” Here’s everything you need to know about “Laid” before it drops all eight episodes on Thursday, Dec. 19.

What time will episodes of ‘Laid’ come on Peacock?
“Laid” will have eight 30-minute episodes which all drop on Thursday, Dec. 19. Usually, new shows on Peacock drop at 12 a.m. ET, so it’s likely (but not confirmed) that’s when you can watch “Laid.”

What is ‘Laid’ about?
Peacock’s newest comedy, “Laid,” is landing on Peacock on Thursday, Dec. 19, ready to shake up your holiday binge-watch plans. The show follows Ruby, played by the amazing (and Academy Award-nominated) Stephanie Hsu, an event planner who’s thrown into a wildly awkward (and, honestly, terrifying) situation: her exes start dropping dead one by one, in the exact order she dated them. Yep, this isn’t your typical rom-com – it’s love mixed with blood and death.
Created by Nahnatchka Khan and Sally Bradford McKenna, the show is a remake of the Australian series of the same name, that dives into the chaos of modern dating with a darkly funny twist. Along the way, Ruby teams up with her ride-or-die best friend, AJ (played by Zosia Mamet), and reconnects with Richie (Michael Angarano), one of her old flames, to figure out what’s going on. Each ex is bound to bring a mix of laughs, drama, and cringe-worthy revelations as Ruby navigates her very, very complicated love life.
