FloSports is expanding on smart TVs and securing new investments as it tries to grow viewership

Like a team looking to get to championship level, sports streaming service FloSports is focused on growth. The service already offers thousands of live events across 25 different sports, and is continuing to make key moves to aid its expansion around the world. Those efforts continued this week when FloSports secured a new round of funding and agreed to a deal with a streaming tech company to help it grow its presence on smart TVs.

Key Details:

  • FloSports has secured new funding from the Indian company Dream Sports.
  • The streamer is partnering with Accedo to bring its smart TV app to new platforms.
  • FloSports streamed 40,000 events in 2024, reaching 23 million viewers.

This week, SportsPro reported that FloSports has secured a new investment from the Indian-based company Dream Sports, allowing it to continue attempting to bolster its programming lineup by adding more sports rights.

“FloSports has built an incredible business and we are excited to support their mission to revolutionize sports streaming,” Dream Sports CEO Harsh Jan said. “We look forward to helping the fantastic team at the company build one of the world’s best sports media platforms.”

In addition, the streamer has made a partnership with Accedo, a technology company that specializes in streaming software and associated services. This partnership will allow FloSports to continue expanding across smart TV platforms; currently, the streamer has smart TV apps for Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Android TV, or Apple TV devices, but by partnering with Accedo, it will look to expand its offerings to reach fans however they stream their favorite sports.

“Expanding FloSports’ reach on Smart TVs allows us to meet our customers where they are and furthers our mission to grow our sports every day,” FloSports VP Dave Stelnik. ‘With Accedo’s proven track record of delivering scalable, innovative sports streaming solutions, together with its expertise in using Lightning, it was the obvious choice to support us in bringing FloSports content to millions of new households.”

In 2024, FloSports delivered more than 40,000 live sporting events in over 25 different sports, including college sports, wrestling, hockey, motorsports, and more. It reached more than 23 million people in 2024, and these expansions will help it continue to add viewers in the future.
