Prime Video begins distributing new Fox One service
Prime Video customers can add Fox One directly to their Amazon bill as of Aug. 21.
Although Fox had to share the stage with ESPN on Thursday, it must be feeling hopeful about its prospects after the launch of the new Fox One streaming direct-to-consumer (DTC) service. Fox One carries a wide range of the most popular Fox brands, including FS1, Fox Business Network, and the Fox News channel. There are lots of ways to sign up for Fox One, and the streamer has just added another convenient method thanks to its new partnership with Prime Video.
Key Details:
- Combining strengths: Prime Video customers can now add Fox One to their subscription.
- Content and cost: Fox One has a wide range of content available for $20 per month.
- No ESPN: ESPN’s new streaming service, like other Disney streamers, is not found on Prime Video.
As of Thursday, all Prime Video subscribers are now able to add a Fox One subscription to their account. Fox One joins other major streaming services like Apple TV+, HBO Max, Paramount+, and many more that can be added via the Prime Video Subscriptions digital storefront for additional monthly fees.
Customers who do decide to subscribe to Fox One will get access to the full assortment of Fox brands, including Fox News, Fox Business, Fox Weather, Fox Sports, FS1, [FS2][Fox Sports 2], Fox Deportes, Big Ten Network, local Fox stations, and the national Fox network.
“We are excited to announce the addition of FOX One on Prime Video,” Prime Video V.P. Albert Cheng said. “Now, subscribers will be able to stream all of the impactful live sports, entertainment, and news from the massive portfolio of global FOX brands, including the NFL, MLB, and the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup. We want to thank our collaborators at FOX for partnering with us on this new and exciting endeavor.”
Viewers will get a host of live content and on-demand video to enjoy, including Fox primetime shows like “Hell's Kitchen,” NFL and college football, and a lot more with a Fox One subscription. It’s priced at $20 per month, a rate intended to dissuade viewers who already get Fox as part of a pay-TV package from canceling that package.
“It is a priority at FOX to ensure that our News, Sports, and Entertainment content is available wherever our customers want to watch and to provide them with as seamless an experience as possible, especially in seeking to address the fragmentation of sports in streaming,” Fox’s CEO of DTC Pete Distad said. “The Amazon Channels platform has a significant sized audience of cord-cutters and cord-nevers that want access to our programming, so we are glad we can offer them yet another option at launch.”
Viewers shouldn’t hold out hope of seeing the new ESPN DTC product on Amazon. Disney does not distribute any of its streamers on Prime Video, and that arrangement is likely to continue barring a sudden meeting of minds between the two companies.
