Fubo makes sports skinny bundle available via quarterly subscriptions
Customers who sign up for the quarterly option will receive a handful of extra sports channels not available to monthly subscribers.
At one point in time, the goal of all cable and satellite providers was to put as many channels in their lineups as humanly possible in order to attract customers and charge them as much as they could. However, in the current era of cord-cutting, live TV streaming services are searching for every possible way to offer customers as many different options as possible to find packages that fit their viewing and budgetary needs. In September, Fubo launched a sports-focused skinny bundle called Fubo Sports that finally allowed the company to achieve something similar to its long-stated goal of being a sports-only streaming option. Now, the platform is offering a new way for sports fans to sign up for the skinny bundle.
Key Details:
- Just the sports, ma’am: Fubo Sports is a skinny bundle that eliminates most non-sports channels from the lineup.
- One month or three?: The plan launched in September and is now offering both monthly and quarterly subscription options.
- More sports: Customers who sign up for the quarterly option will receive a handful of extra sports channels not available to monthly subscribers.
Fubo has announced that, in addition to the monthly option available for Fubo Sports, it is making the skinny bundle available on a quarterly basis. Billed upfront, this new subscription option will cost $157.97, including the current $10 first-month promo. Customers who sign up for the quarterly option will receive a handful of channels not available on the monthly plan. Quarterly subscribers will receive access to the DraftKings Network, SportsGrid, MotoGP, and the Yahoo! Sports Network, as well as several additional channels that Fubo plans to add in the coming weeks.
Those networks are in addition to ABC, ACC Network, Big Ten Network, CBS, CBS Sports Network, ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNEWS, ESPNU, Fox, Fox News, FS1, FS2, Fubo Sports Network, Ion, NFL Network, SEC Network, and Tennis Channel. Subscribers also receive access to ESPN Unlimited — including ESPN+ — at no extra cost. Currently, NBC is not included in the package, but you can watch the channel via an over-the-air antenna. Also, Fubo does not have a carriage agreement with Warner Bros. Discovery, meaning that sports carried on TNT, TBS, and truTV like the NHL, college basketball, MLB, and AEW Wrestling, are not available. However, now that Fubo has joined Hulu + Live TV under the Disney umbrella, things could always change on that front.
Currently, Fubo Sports is available in over 100 markets nationwide. So, if you live in or near even a medium-sized market, there is a pretty good chance that you will have access, but make sure that your home market is included before signing up.
