“When Calls the Heart” Season 12 will air the premiere episode of its 12th season on Sunday, Jan. 5 at 9 p.m. ET. New episodes will follow on succeeding Sundays.

Season 12 will continue the key storylines of “When Calls the Heart” Season 11. Those episodes focused on the growing relationship between Elizabeth and Nathan, who both have to deal with the return of Thomas Higgins into Elizabeth’s life. By season’s end, Elizabeth has confessed her true feelings for Nathan, and the two decide to move forward in a real relationship. But just as their future together seems assured, Elizabeth is notified that new information has surfaced regarding her late husband Jack.
Elsewhere in Hope Valley, Mike and Mei have gotten married, and estranged brothers Joseph and Jacob are finally brought back together. Lucas’s shooting is still a matter of intense investigation, and Allie is forced to struggle with the rejection of her birth father.

“When Calls the Heart” has a huge ensemble cast, but most of the citizens of Hope Valley are returning for the new batch of episodes. Erin Krakow (Elizabeth Horton) and Kevin McGarry (Nathan Grant) are returning, as will Jack Wagner (Bill Avery), Chris McNally (Lucas Boucard), Amanda Wong (Mei Sou), Ben Rosenbaum (Mike Hickam), Jaeda Lily Miller (Allie Grant) and the vast majority of the main cast.
New to the series this season will be Melissa Gilbert as Georgie McGill, who shares a surprising past with one special Hope Valley resident.
