About New York Red Bulls vs. LA Galaxy
The LA Galaxy has completely turned things around in the past two seasons, facing fan protests before the start of the 2023 campaign. The roster is revamped, and new arrivals like Marco Reus, Gabriel Pec, and Joseph Paintsil have been key to their success in 2024. The team defeated the Seattle Sounders 1-0 in the conference final matchup, and now has just one hurdle to clear before lifting the MLS Cup.
That hurdle is the New York Red Bulls, who also won 1-0 in the conference final against Orlando City, and the absence of the Galaxy’s Riqui Puig could give them plenty of extra confidence heading into the game. There are plenty of seasoned veterans who think it’s New York’s year to hoist the trophy for the first time.
Can you stream 2024 MLS Cup for free?
Yes you can, and there are multiple ways to do it. The simplest is to just watch via the Apple TV app on your smart TV or connected device. Apple is the streaming home of MLS Season Pass, which airs every game of the MLS season. Normally that subscription can cost up to $15 per month, but for the championship match, Apple is making the game free for everyone.
Additionally, there are several live TV streaming services that offer free trials long enough to watch the 2024 MLS Cup final without having to pay. DIRECTV STREAM would be our recommendation (more on that in a few moments) due to its industry-leading five-day free trial. Hulu + Live TV has a standard free trial of three days for all new subscribers, and carries Fox as well.
YouTube TV also comes with a free trial, but these vary in length depending on what time of month you sign up.
Why we recommend DIRECTV STREAM as the top live-TV streaming service for the 2024 MLS Cup
DIRECTV STREAM is our top choice in terms of live TV streaming services for watching the MLS Cup, mostly because of the availability of Fox in nearly all major markets in the United States, but also because of its five-day free trial. Once the game is over, you can watch analysis on ESPN and FS1, and stream the dozens of other cable channels available on DIRECTV STREAM at no cost for nearly a week.
Once the trial is over, prices for DIRECTV STREAM start at $87 per month.
DIRECTV
DIRECTV is one of The Streamable’s top choices for the best live TV streaming service overall in 2026, especially for users who want the most channels or want to watch the most live sports. With an unbeatable lineup of local, news, sports, and entertainment channels, three main signature packages, an unlimited DVR, and 20 simultaneous streams at home, DIRECTV remains a premier choice for any cord-cutter.

Sling TV is the fifth service you can use to stream the game on Fox, though it should be noted that only a relatively small number of markets get Fox with Sling TV. The game can also be streamed on MLS Season Pass.
