Don’t miss the NASCAR action from Darlington Raceway this weekend

The NASCAR Cup Series rolls into one of the toughest tracks on the schedule this weekend with the Goodyear 400 at Darlington Raceway. The race goes down Sunday, March 22 at 3 p.m. ET on FS1, and this one’s a totally different kind of challenge compared to the tracks we’ve seen so far. Darlington is a weird, egg-shaped oval with rough pavement that chews up tires fast, so drivers have to be careful, smooth, and smart over long stretches. It’s also famous for the “Darlington Stripe,” which is basically what happens when you get a little too close to the wall, which happens a lot here. Denny Hamlin is coming in hot after winning last week, but guys like Tyler Reddick and Kyle Larson have been fast and should be right there again. If the tire wear ends up being as big a factor as expected, this could turn into one of the wildest races we’ve seen so far this season. You can stream all the racing action with 50% off a subscription to Sling TV.

Why we like Sling TV for watching the NASCAR Goodyear 400

If you’re trying to keep up with NASCAR, basketball, hockey, live events, and that one show everyone keeps texting about, Sling TV makes it pretty easy. It pulls a bunch of live stuff into one place without wrecking your budget. It’s still one of the cheaper big live TV streaming options out there, and it’s got the channels you actually need when race weekend hits.

Right now, Sling’s running a deal where you get 50% off your first month, dropping the base plan from $46 per month to $23 for that first month. That’s a great deal if you’re just hopping in for the race. FS1, which is airing the Goodyear 400, is included with the Sling Blue package. You can also combine Sling Orange and Sling Blue if you want everything. That bundle usually costs $61 per month, but with the promo, your first month comes out to $30.50, which is still cheaper than most other live TV streaming services.

If you want a different option, FS1 is also included in Sling’s Select package for $30 per month. That plan also gives you access to local ABC, NBC, and Fox stations in certain areas. And if you’re only here for this weekend, Sling still has day, weekend, and week-long passes, so you can watch without locking yourself into a full monthly plan.

Sling TV

Sling TV is The Streamable’s choice for cord-cutters on a budget. Sling is a live TV streaming service with multiple channel packages. The $45.99/month Sling Orange plan offers about 30 channels, including Disney Channel and ESPN. The $45.99/month Sling Blue plan offers about 40 channels, including ABC, Fox, and NBC in major markets.

You can combine Orange+Blue for a total of $60.99 / month. Sling also offers many channel add-on packages starting at $6/month.

Can you watch the NASCAR Goodyear 400 for free?

If you’re just looking to watch the Goodyear 400 and don’t feel like picking up another monthly subscription, you’ve still got a few free trial options. Just know they don’t all work the same way. DIRECTV STREAM, Hulu + Live TV, Fubo, and YouTube TV all offer trials, but how long you actually get can depend on timing and whether you’ve signed up before.

Your safest move is usually DIRECTV STREAM. They often have a five-day free trial, which is plenty of time to catch the race and cancel if that’s all you need. Hulu + Live TV is another solid option, with a three-day trial that lines up nicely with race weekend.

Fubo is a bit more of a wild card. As The Streamable’s David Satin has pointed out, it’s not always super clear how long your trial will be even when you’re signing up. Some people only get a day, while others get closer to a full week, so it can vary a lot.

YouTube TV is similar. They promote trials “up to two weeks,” but some users only get a couple of days which can make it tricky if you’re planning around one specific event. It’s worth double-checking the exact trial length before you sign up so there are no surprises.

Watch a recap of last week’s NASCAR Cup Series race

About the 2026 NASCAR Goodyear 400

Darlington Raceway is one of the most recognizable tracks in NASCAR, and not just because of how it looks. The place has been around since 1950, making it one of the oldest stops on the schedule, and it’s built a reputation as a track that doesn’t forgive mistakes. The shape is unusual, the corners all feel different, and the surface is rough enough that teams have to constantly think about tire wear. It’s one of those tracks where experience matters, but even veteran drivers can get caught out if they push too hard.

That’s also why this race tends to get unpredictable. Long green-flag runs, tire falloff, and drivers trying to manage their equipment all come into play, which can shake up the running order pretty quickly. It’s not always about who’s the fastest over one lap, but who can stay consistent over an entire run. With a full field of drivers and a track that challenges everyone in different ways, the Goodyear 400 usually turns into a race where strategy, patience, and a little bit of survival all matter just as much as raw speed.
