The NASCAR Cup Series wraps up its West Coast swing this weekend with the Pennzoil 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. The race is set for Sunday, March 15 at 4 p.m. ET on FS1, and it’s the first real look this season at how teams stack up on the mile-and-a-half tracks that make up a huge chunk of the schedule. Las Vegas is one of those classic intermediate ovals where speed, tire management, and long green-flag runs usually decide the outcome. Denny Hamlin won the last Cup race here, but a handful of heavy hitters like Kyle Larson, Christopher Bell, and William Byron are expected to be right in the mix this weekend. If the early-season form carries over to Nevada, this could end up being one of the most revealing races of the young season. You can stream all the racing action with 50% off a subscription to Sling TV.

Why we like Sling TV for watching the NASCAR Pennzoil 400

If you’re juggling NASCAR, basketball, hockey, live events, and whatever new show your group chat won’t stop recommending, Sling TV keeps things simple. It puts a lot of that live programming in one place without blowing up your monthly budget. It’s still one of the more affordable major live TV streaming services, and it carries the channels you’ll want when race weekend rolls around.

Right now, Sling is running a deal that gives you 50% off your first month, bringing the base plan down from $46 per month to $23 for the first month. That’s a solid price if you’re just looking to jump in for the race. FS1, which is airing the Pennzoil 400, comes with the Sling Blue package. You can also bundle Sling Orange and Sling Blue if you want the full lineup.

Normally, that combined plan runs $61 per month, but with the promo, your first month drops to $30.50, which still comes in cheaper than most other live TV streaming services.

If you’d rather go another route, FS1 is also available through Sling’s Select package for $30 per month. That plan also includes access to local ABC, NBC, and Fox stations in select markets. And if you’re really just tuning in for this weekend’s race, Sling still offers day, weekend, and week-long passes, which gives you a flexible way to watch without committing to a full monthly plan.

Sling TV

Sling TV is The Streamable’s choice for cord-cutters on a budget. Sling is a live TV streaming service with multiple channel packages. The $45.99/month Sling Orange plan offers about 30 channels, including Disney Channel and ESPN. The $45.99/month Sling Blue plan offers about 40 channels, including ABC, Fox, and NBC in major markets.

You can combine Orange+Blue for a total of $60.99 / month. Sling also offers many channel add-on packages starting at $6/month.

Can you watch the NASCAR Pennzoil 400 for free?

If you’re just trying to watch the Pennzoil 400 and don’t want to add another monthly bill, there are still a few free trial options out there. Just keep in mind they don’t all work the same way. DIRECTV STREAM, Hulu + Live TV, Fubo, and YouTube TV all advertise trials, but the length you actually get can depend on timing and whether you’ve subscribed before.

The safest bet is usually DIRECTV STREAM. They often run a five-day free trial, which gives you more than enough time to watch the race and cancel if that’s all you wanted. Hulu + Live TV typically offers new users a three-day trial, which also lines up nicely with a race weekend.

Fubo can be a little less predictable. As The Streamable’s David Satin has pointed out, it’s not always clear how long your trial will last even during sign-up. Some people get a single day. Others see closer to a full week, so it really varies.

YouTube TV works in a similar way. They advertise trials “up to two weeks,” but some users only receive a couple of days which can make planning around a specific event tricky. Before signing up, it’s a good idea to check exactly what trial length appears during the signup process.

Watch a recap of last week’s NASCAR Cup Series race

About the 2026 NASCAR Pennzoil 400

Las Vegas Motor Speedway is one of those classic NASCAR mile-and-a-half tracks you hear people in the garage call a “cookie-cutter.” Basically, it means the layout looks a lot like several other tracks on the schedule. Kansas and Homestead-Miami are probably the closest comparisons. Vegas has been hosting Cup Series races since 1998, and races like this are a pretty big deal because this type of intermediate oval actually makes up almost half of the oval races on the schedule. So when teams show up here early in the season, they’re paying very close attention to how their cars perform.

That’s why this weekend can tell us a lot about what the rest of the year might look like. If a team figures something out at Las Vegas, there’s a good chance that speed carries over to other mile-and-a-half tracks later in the season. Kyle Larson is always someone people circle when these tracks come up because he’s been so strong on them over the years. But he’s definitely not the only one. Drivers like Christopher Bell, Denny Hamlin, Tyler Reddick, and William Byron all have the kind of speed that can put them right at the front on Sunday. So this race ends up feeling like a bit of an early-season test for the whole field.
