About ‘A Christmas Story’
“A Christmas Story” is set in December of 1939 and follows young Ralphie Parker, who dreams of getting a Red Ryder BB gun for Christmas. However, much to his dismay, all of the adults in his life repeatedly tell him no, because, “You’ll shoot your eye out!” As Ralphie schemes to convince his parents, teacher, and even Santa to grant his wish, the story humorously captures his family’s quirky holiday antics, including his father’s obsession with a “major award,” his brother’s winter struggles, and encounters with local bullies. On Christmas morning, Ralphie receives a big surprise under the tree, but also nearly proves everyone right.
