What is ‘Drops of God’ Season 2 about?

“Drops of God” has been one of the most universally lauded shows in recent memory and in Apple TV history. With a perfect 100% critics' score on Rotten Tomatoes this French-Japanese drama is based on a bestselling Japanese manga series of the same name. The series stars Fleur Geffrier and Tomohisa Yamashita, as a man and woman who find themselves at odds over the inheritance of a one-of-a-kind wine collection. While both are experts in the field of oenology, the competition to claim the prize is about more than simply testing their sommelier skills.

In the second season, their characters (Camille and Issei) find themselves on a journey to discover the origin of the world’s greatest wine. What starts out as a search for legacy quickly becomes something far more personal: a continent-spanning quest for truth that stretches generations. As long-buried rivalries resurface and secrets once thought safely sealed find their ways back to light, Camille and Issei must decide what, and how much, they are willing to sacrifice.

When the cost of uncovering the truth becomes impossible to ignore, the two must decide just how much they’re willing to give up — a choice that could either redefine their bond or leave them both irreparably broken.
