‘Legends’ Season 2 is happening with Tom Burke returning
Neil Forsyth returns to continue the story as the team gets dragged back into Britain’s criminal underworld.
For my money, “Legends” is the best under-the-radar crime drama to land on Netflix in years. And now, it’s officially coming back for Season 2, with my favorite character (Tom Burke’s Guy) returning, along with Steve Coogan and Hayley Squires. With creator and writer Neil Forsyth back as well, I have high hopes they can find the magic that made Season 1 impossible to stop watching. Here’s everything you need to know about the second season of “Legends.”
Everything you need to know about ‘Legends’ Season 2
When does ‘Legends’ Season 2 cstream?
There’s no official date yet, just because Netflix only announced the second season renewal on Aug. 24. What we do know is that production is set to start in 2027, so I’d expect a 2028 release date as most likely.
Can you watch ‘Legends’ Season 2 for free once it starts streaming?
Probably not because Netflix doesn’t offer a free trial at the moment. Plans start at $9 per month with ads, while the ad-free plans cost $20 per month and $27 per month. That said, Netflix has started offering free trials in other territories, and that could extend to the U.S., so make sure to at least check before you sign up.
Netflix
Netflix is a leading subscription-based video streaming service that offers on-demand access to an extensive library of over 3,000 movies, 2,000+ TV shows, and a growing collection of acclaimed Netflix originals. Renowned for producing groundbreaking content, Netflix has become a cultural powerhouse with hit originals like “Stranger Things,” “Wednesday,” “Squid Game,” “The Crown,” “Tiger King,” “Bridgerton,” “The Witcher,” and “Black Mirror.”
What is ‘Legends’ Season 2 about?
By the end of Season 1, the team has cracked this huge international case and somehow made it back to normal life. Which you know isn’t going to last very long. “Legends” Season 2 drags them right back into it, now further into the late 1990s, when this kind of undercover work was getting uglier and a lot more dangerous. These people are still Customs employees, technically, but after spending that much time inventing names, histories, relationships, whole personalities… I’m not sure “normal” means much anymore. Netflix hasn’t said what the new case is, which leaves a lot blank right now. But the part I like is already there — they got out, then something (or someone) pulls them back in.
Who stars in ‘Legends’ Season 2?
Tom Burke, Steve Coogan, and Hayley Squires are all coming back for “Legends” Season 2. I’m pumped for Burke especially. Guy is such an odd character to watch because Burke never seems interested in telling you exactly what’s going on with him. Sometimes he looks completely locked in. Sometimes he looks like he’s one bad decision from disappearing into the fake life altogether. That uncertainty is a big part of why I loved watching him.
Coogan’s Don feels almost like the warning sign walking around next to him, a guy who’s been through enough of this to know where the bodies are buried, metaphorically and probably otherwise. And Squires brings a devil-may-care attitude with the right amount of recklessness to keep things interesting. Netflix hasn’t announced anybody new yet, so for now, those are the three confirmed returnees.
