Robert Eggers’ ‘Nosferatu’ lands on Peacock with an extended cut
Stream the haunting new adaptation, plus a never-before-seen extended version, starting Friday, Feb. 21.
I absolutely loved “Nosferatu”. It’s everything a horror remake should be - respectful of the original while making its own mark. Bill Skarsgård’s voice as Nosferatu is unreal - guttural, chilling, and completely inhuman. The whole movie is just the right kind of creepy, never leaning on cheap jump scares but instead building tension through eerie visuals, unsettling silence, and incredible performances. Few remakes actually live up to their predecessors, but this one does. And very soon, it’ll be added to my list of best Dracula movies to stream. You can stream “Nosferatu” exclusively on Peacock starting Friday, Feb. 21.

Everything you need to know about ‘Nosferatu’
About ‘Nosferatu’
Robert Eggers brings his signature eerie style to “Nosferatu,” a chilling new take on the classic vampire tale. Bill Skarsgård takes on the role of Count Orlok, the grotesque and terrifying creature at the heart of the story, with Nicholas Hoult playing Thomas Hutter, the unsuspecting real estate agent who gets lured into the vampire’s lair. Lily-Rose Depp plays Ellen Hutter, whose fate becomes entwined with Orlok’s obsession. Eggers, known for “The Witch” and “The Lighthouse,” is no stranger to slow-burning, atmospheric horror, and he’s crafted something here that feels both timeless and uniquely his own. And for those who want even more, Peacock is also streaming a never-before-seen extended cut, offering a longer, more immersive experience of Eggers’ gothic nightmare.
The film is inspired by F.W. Murnau’s 1922 silent classic “Nosferatu,” which itself was an unauthorized adaptation of Bram Stoker’s Dracula. Over a century later, Eggers’ version keeps the same gothic DNA but dials up the psychological horror, making Orlok a more disturbing and all-consuming presence. The production design leans into shadowy, dreamlike visuals, bringing the eerie, old-world horror back to life in a way that feels both fresh and faithful to the original. And the production team’s work has paid off - “Nosferatu” has been nominated for four Academy Awards, including Best Cinematography, Best Costume Design, Best Makeup and Hairstyling, and Best Production Design.

What other horror movies can you watch on Peacock?
If “Nosferatu” sounds like your kind of movie, Peacock has plenty of eerie films to keep the nightmare going. There’s “Nosferatu the Vampyre,” Werner Herzog’s moody and atmospheric reimagining of the 1922 classic, with Klaus Kinski delivering a haunting take on Count Dracula. For a more romantic but equally unsettling gothic tale, “Crimson Peak” from Guillermo del Toro drips with lush, ghostly horror set against a decaying mansion full of deadly secrets. And if you love a good ghost story, “The Changeling” is a masterclass in slow-burning supernatural terror, following a grieving composer who moves into a historic mansion only to uncover a sinister presence. You can get a subscription to Peacock starting at $8 per month.
