About the 2026 Puppy Bowl

The 2026 Puppy Bowl stars more rescue pups than ever before! This year’s fluffy football game features 150 dogs from the United States, Puerto Rico, and the British Virgin Islands. 72 animal shelters had the chance to participate, sending many different breeds, shapes, sizes, and abilities, including 15 special needs dogs. For the past 15 years, Dan Schachner has had the honor of refereeing the cute chaos, and he returns once again. Steve Levy and Taylor Rooks offer commentary filled with plenty of pet puns.

Benito (Siberian Husky-Chihuahua from Puerto Rico) and Showgirl (Chow Chow-Rottweiler) kick things off for Team Fluff, while Lobster Roll (Bulldog-Border Collie), Brûlée (Boston Terrier-French Bulldog), and Miso (American Cattle Dog-Beagle) lead Team Ruff. Both teams are vying to bring home the “Lombarky” trophy. Two hardworking pups will receive the Bissell MVP (Most Valuable Puppy) title and the Subaru Underdog Award.

Along with the adorable matchups, the 2026 Puppy Bowl features touching adoption stories and kitten appearances. This year brings a fun new addition, honoring senior dogs in the Pro-Dog Halftime Showdown. Look forward to hearing from social media influencer Isabel Klee and Buffalo Bills wide receiver Khalil Shakir.
