About ‘The Traitors’
Hosted by stage and screen star Alan Cumming, “The Traitors” is a psychological competition series in which some of the entertainment industry’s most competitive reality stars and other famous faces face off for a major cash prize.
At an ancient castle set deep in the Scottish Highlands, contestants, known as the Faithful, work together on a series of challenges to build a prize pot worth up to $250,000. But hidden amongst the Faithful are the Traitors, whose goal is to eliminate the Faithful and claim the prize for themselves. To do so, they must “murder” the Faithful one by one while the Faithful work to uncover the Traitors and banish them from the game. If the Faithful banish all of the Traitors, they’ll share the prize fund, but if at least one Traitor makes it to the end, they’ll steal all the money.
The series was adapted from the British competition series of the same name and its Dutch counterpart “De Verraders,” “The Traitors” became a breakthrough hit with its second season, ranking as the number-one unscripted series across all streaming platforms during its launch week. It received four Primetime Emmy Award nominations and won the statuettes for Outstanding Reality Competition Program and Outstanding Host for a Reality or Reality Competition Program, while Season 1 took home the Emmy for Outstanding Casting for a Reality Program.
