About USWNT vs. China
The USWNT isn’t having the start to 2025 that they would ideally have liked. The squad has already lost twice this year — a 2-1 defeat to Japan in the SheBelieves Cup tournament in February, and a loss to Brazil in another friendly match in April These are the first two losses for the USWNT since Emma Hayes took over as coach of the club in 2024.
The good news for the U.S. side is that help is on the way, in the form of elite defender Naomi Girma. The team will be counting on her to help turn the tables on China, and as an integral part of their bid for the 2027 World Cup when qualifying for that tournament begins.
