What Is Each Major Network Doing to Cover the 2024 U.S. Presidential Election?

ABC

Coverage Begins at 7 p.m. ET on Nov. 5.

ABC will offer 72+ hours of uninterrupted coverage starting Tuesday, Nov. 5. David Muir of “World News Tonight” will lead the network’s coverage, joined by Linsey Davis, Martha Raddatz, Rachel Scott, Terry Moran, and Rick Klein.

Pierre Thomas and Aaron Katersky, as well as Dan Abrams and Kate Shaw ill keep track of all election integrity-related storylines. Reporters will also be stationed in various battleground states around the country, with Whit Johnson covering the Trump/Vance campaign, Eva Pilgrim covering the Harris/Walz campaign, Juju Chang in Michigan, Byron Pitts in North Carolina, Deborah Roberts in Wisconsin, chief national correspondent Matt Gutman in Pennsylvania, chief business, technology and economics correspondent Rebecca Jarvis in New York, senior national correspondent Steve Osunsami in Georgia, White House correspondent MaryAlice Parks covering the White House, correspondent Mireya Villarreal in Nevada, correspondent John Quiñones in Texas, correspondent Kayna Whitworth covering the West Coast from California, and correspondent Elizabeth Schulze will join from Arizona.

Coverage Begins at 7 p.m. ET on Nov. 5.

Norah O’Donnell will anchor CBS’s coverage, joined by Margaret Brennan, John Dickerson, Gayle King, Cecilia Vega, Robert Costa, and Ed O’Keefe. Nancy Cordes and contributor Ed Gordon will report from the Harris/Walz election night headquarters in Washington, D.C., and Tony Dokoupil and Caitlin Huey-Burns will report from the Trump/Vance election night headquarters in West Palm Beach, Fla.

Antony Salvanto and Major Garrett will make projections throughout the night at the CBS News Data Desk. Maurice DuBois will keep track of the race to 270 electoral votes, and Scott MacFarlane will cover the battle for the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives.

Rachel Maddow is the lead anchor for MSNBC’s election night coverage, with help from Nicolle Wallace, Ari Melber, Joy Reid, Chris Hayes, Alex Wagner, Lawrence O’Donnell, Stephanie Ruhle, and Jen Psaki.

Steve Kornacki is handling Big Board responsibilities for NBC News and MSNBC alike, tracking all the most consequential races of the night. Symone Sanders Townsend, Michael Steele, and Claire McCaskill are also providing coverage, and MSNBC will embed plenty of reporters with both the Harris and Trump campaigns. In addition, the channel will station 100 correspondents throughout battleground states.

NBC

Coverage begins at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 5.

Primetime coverage on NBC will be led by Lester Holt and Savannah Guthrie, with help from Kristen Welker and Hallie Jackson. Tom Llamas will split Big Board duties with Steve Kornacki, while Laura Jarrett and Tom Winter fact-check any misinformation. Names like Peter Alexander and Dasha Burns will help cover the Harris and Trump campaigns, respectively.

Coverage begins at 7 p.m. ET on Tuesday, Nov. 5.

Amna Nawaz and Geoff Bennett will co-anchor PBS’s coverage of Election Night 2024. They will be joined throughout the evening by “PBS News Hour” Capitol Hill and Trump campaign correspondent Lisa Desjardins; White House and Harris campaign correspondent Laura Barrón-López; and correspondents William Brangham, John Yang, Stephanie Sy, Miles O’Brien, and Judy Woodruff, along with PBS reporters from local stations in multiple states across the country.

Analysis will be provided by editor-in-chief of the Cook Political Report Amy Walter, Republican strategist Kevin Madden, Democratic strategist Faiz Shakir, Washington Post associate editor Jonathan Capehart, and New York Times op-ed columnist David Brooks.

Longtime news anchor Brian Williams will lead Amazon’s “Election Night with Brian Williams,” with help from Shepard Smith, Douglas Brinkley, James Carville, Mike Murphy, Abby Huntsman, Erin Perrine, Erin McPike, Jessica Yellin, Mother Jones‘ Garrison Hayes, former Rep. Tim Ryan, Puck’s Tara Palmeri, Axios’ Hans Nichols, and the Washington Post‘s Jackie Alemany.

The production will rely on Reuters for up-to-the-minute data, and on Williams’ popularity and charisma to carry Prime Video’s first attempt at providing a live news broadcast through. Williams has promised a minimum of 10 hours of coverage, depending on how the night unfolds.
