LIV Golf strikes new global broadcast deal with DAZN
DAZN will help distribute the LIV Golf+ service in more than 200 markets around the world.
One of the global leaders in sports streaming has a new partnership to present to fans. On Friday, DAZN announced that it had reached a deal with LIV Golf to distribute that league and its content in hundreds of global territories. The partnership includes exclusive broadcast rights in a number of countries, and distribution of the LIV Golf+ streaming service as well.
Key Details:
- The deal will see DAZN assume exclusive broadcasting rights for LIV Golf in Austria, Canada, Germany, and elsewhere.
- DAZN will help distribute LIV Golf+ in more than 200 markets.
- In the United States, Fox has a broadcast partnership with LIV Golf that was announced earlier this year.
The agreement between DAZN and LIV Golf will allow the streaming platform to stream LIV Golf competitions exclusively in Austria, Belgium, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Portugal, and Switzerland.
“DAZN’s cutting-edge technology and unparalleled scale give LIV Golf a significant platform to engage a truly global audience,” said Scott O’Neil, LIV Golf CEO. “Our players, teams and schedule span the globe, and it’s important that we continue to connect with fans all over the world as we grow our League in new and exciting markets.”
In addition, the LIV Golf+ service will be distributed by DAZN in more than 200 markets, allowing fans in those areas to watch free with ads. Only the United States, Spain, Korea, Australia, China, and Russia will be excluded from this distribution deal between DAZN and LIV Golf+, which offers both live and on-demand content.
Of the deal, DAZN CEO Shay Segev said:
“As a truly global broadcaster, DAZN is dedicated to ensuring that fans in every region can experience the most exciting action from LIV Golf, live and free. LIV Golf+ on DAZN will be available alongside DAZN’s extended free content offering, positioning it within an ecosystem that has already captured the attention of golf fans worldwide. This strategic partnership will grow the reach and popularity of LIV Golf, while bringing us closer to building the global home of golf on DAZN.”
In the United States, LIV Golf announced a broadcast deal with Fox channels in January. That deal sees LIV Golf tournaments play on Fox, FS1, and [FS2][Fox Sports 2], though fans can still stream content on LIV Golf+ as well. The 2025 LIV Golf season began in February.
LIV Golf has drawn controversy since its founding, thanks to a contribution from the Saudi Public Investment Fund. The fund has also invested $1 billion in DAZN, which could have helped facilitate the deal between the sports streamer and the golf league.
