This is one toy the store isn’t likely to take back. “M3GAN 2.0” is coming to theaters on Friday, June 27, the perfect excuse to get out of the summer heat and grab a bucket of popcorn. If you were hoping to stream “M3GAN 2.0” this weekend, it’s not available yet, but we’ll let you know when we think it’ll be available to watch on-demand.

“M3GAN 2.0” takes place two years after the events of the first film. Roboticist Gemma is now advocating for the regulation of artificial intelligence, while M3GAN is strapped in a harmless robotic doll. But M3GAN’s technology has been stolen to create a military robot named AMELIA, and when she becomes self-aware, she attempts to take over the world. Only M3GAN can stop her… but will she?
The film has not received quite as good reviews as its predecessor, and removes many of the thriller elements in favor of a more action-heavy premise. It currently sports a 59% rating from critics on Rotten Tomatoes, only one point away from being considered “Fresh” by that website.
When will ‘M3GAN 2.0’ be available to stream?
At the very least, it’s easy to say where “M3GAN 2.0” will stream once it’s no longer exclusive to theaters. The film is being distributed by Universal, so it will end up on Peacock once the studio deems it time to allow the movie to stream on platforms besides premium video-on-demand (PVOD) services like Prime Video that allow viewers to rent or buy movies that are still in theaters.
It’s not as easy to say when “M3GAN 2.0” will be streaming, but it might not take too long. The first film came to Peacock just 49 days after being released in cinemas, and similar movies like “Violent Night” took the exact same length of time to stream on Peacock after their theatrical bow.
There’s no reason to mess with success here, so I’ll predict that “M3GAN 2.0” will arrive on Peacock on Friday, Aug. 15 — 49 days after its theatrical debut. That means you’ll still be able to spend a summer afternoon with M3GAN, even if you wait for the movie to stream.
