The NBA season is just days away! The 2023-24 NBA regular season begins on Tuesday, Oct. 24, and the league is introducing some new improvements to the NBA App that will help fans get the latest news on their favorite teams and players.

  • New updates to the NBA App include the ability to add multiple team and player tabs to the main screen.
  • NBA League Pass users will be able to switch between broadcast feeds and languages more quickly.
  • Cross-platform watch party feature coming later in the season.

More Customization, More Content

New to the NBA App this year, fans can add multiple team and player tabs to their home screen, which gives them instant access to stats, highlights, and trending news topics about that team or player. Personalized push notifications will alert users when their favorites make a big play or win a crucial game. There’s also a new “Moments” section on the app, which allows fans to scroll vertically social-media style through the top content from across the NBA.

There will be new written and video content on the NBA App this season as well. A daily newsletter titled “Starting 5” will keep track of the top storylines around the league, and will feature contributions from current and former NBA players and coaches, including the Boston Celtics’ Jayson Tatum, the Denver Nuggets’ Jamal Murray and more.

On the video side of the content spectrum, the NBA App is bringing another season of “Pass the Rock” to viewers. The show features some of the brightest young stars in the league, such as Orlando Magic forward Paolo Banchero, New York Knicks guard Jalen Brunson and Indiana Pacers guard Tyrese Haliburton. Also new this season is a series called “Bring it Home,” a behind-the-scenes look at the Denver Nuggets’ championship-winning 2022-23 season, narrated by Jamal Murray.

What Improvements Are Coming to NBA League Pass?

The NBA League Pass experience on the NBA app is also due for an upgrade this year. League Pass customers will get an enhanced live game streaming experience making it easier for fans to switch between multiple broadcast and language options while interacting with dynamic overlays featuring live player stats, scores, betting odds, and other content.

At some point during the 2023-24 season, NBA League Pass subscribers will be able to enjoy cross-platform watch parties, so that subscribers on different devices can synch up their game with friends in a different location and watch together.

NBA League Pass

For passionate basketball aficionados, NBA League Pass stands as the premier destination for immersing yourself in the thrilling world of professional basketball. It offers unparalleled flexibility, allowing you to meticulously follow every move of your favorite team throughout the season or broaden your horizons to catch every game played across the entire league. It’s important to note that, due to broadcasting rights, blackout restrictions may apply to games that are televised locally or aired on national channels.

…

The beauty of NBA League Pass lies in its customizable nature; prices and the suite of available features can vary significantly, ensuring you can select a subscription tier that perfectly aligns with your viewing habits and budget. Whether you’re a casual observer or a hardcore stat-head, there’s likely a package designed for you.

Beyond simply streaming games, a subscription unlocks a richer, more interactive viewing experience. You’ll typically gain access to both the Home and Away team broadcasts, giving you the freedom to choose which commentary team you prefer. For those watching on the move, the Mobile View feature ensures an optimized, high-quality stream on your smartphone or tablet. Furthermore, NBA League Pass often caters to a global audience, with broadcasts available in additional languages, and provides diverse perspectives through multiple camera angles, letting you see the game in new ways.

One of the most compelling enhancements is the integration of in-stream advanced statistics. This means while you’re absorbed in the action, you can instantly pull up detailed box scores, track live player performance metrics, and analyze team statistics without ever needing to navigate away from the live game stream. This seamless access to data keeps you fully informed and engaged with every facet of the on-court drama.

The NBA offers three plans “Team Pass” ($13.99), which provide great options if you only want to follow a single team.

“League Pass” ($16.99) lets you see every game across the entire league.

The “League Pass Premium” ($24.99) plan allows watching on 3 devices without commercials.

You can also save by subscribing to the full season. It’s $89.99 / year for the Team Pass, $109.99 / year for the League Pass, or $159.99 / year for League Pass Premium.

NBA League Pass is also available as an Amazon Prime Video channel.
