NBC Sports FAST Channel Airing Live Women’s Basketball Games This Month
The WBCA Showcase is a new women’s college basketball event, and the NBC Sports free channel will carry all six games.
Women’s college basketball has been steadily increasing in viewership over the last few years, thanks to superstar players like Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese. NBC Sports wants to take advantage of that growing fandom and announced on Thursday that its free ad-supported streaming TV (FAST) channel would play host to the upcoming Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WCBA) Showcase event when it plays out later this month.
Key Details:
- All games of the WCBA Showcase will air on the NBC Sports FAST channel.
- The channel is available on Peacock, Pluto TV, The Roku Channel and other services.
- The event begins on Thursday, Nov. 21.
The WCBA Showcase will air all six of its games on the NBC Sports FAST channel. Teams participating include Georgia, Jacksonville, Louisville, Marshall, Mississippi State, Penn State, Tulsa and the University of South Florida. Coverage of the tournament begins on Thursday, Nov. 21.
The tournament schedule is as follows:
Date | Time (ET) | Matchup |

Thursday, Nov. 21 | 5 p.m. | Tulsa vs. Georgia |
7:30 p.m. | Marshall vs. Penn State | |
Saturday, Nov. 23 | 12 noon | Tulsa vs. Marshall |

“We look forward to partnering with the WBCA and adding more quality women’s college basketball matchups to our early season schedule,” NBC Sports senior director Nick Casanova said.
The event will be available to stream on a host of different platforms. The NBC Sports FAST channel is available to Peacock subscribers, but viewers can also find it on a wide selection of free streaming services, including Freevee, Pluto TV, The Roku Channel, Samsung TV Plus and Xumo Play.
“We are excited to have NBC Sports as our television partner in the WBCA’s first venture into the competition space,” WBCA executive director Danielle Donehew said. “The sport is in a place of great strength. It is time for a new WBCA business endeavor — the creation of events to increase opportunities for visibility of our game, athletes and coaches. NBC Sports and Peacock continue to demonstrate their commitment to women’s athletics and will play an important role on our team. We expect our relationship to strengthen as we build even more together.”
Free streaming channels don’t often get to host a ton of live sports, but there is a growing precedent of no-cost services that are welcoming more sports content. The Roku Channel won the rights to the MLB’s Sunday Leadoff package this year, and just last month the sports-first service Free Live Sports launched with a wide range of sports available.
