Netflix launches new Yule logs based on popular shows

The streamer is helping its users get into the festive spirit by offering new yule logs built around some of its top shows and movies of 2025.

Known for breaking major streaming stories, he’s covered everything from Netflix policy shifts to Peacock’s ad-tier changes. A sci-fi fan and Toshiba Fire TV user, he brings sharp analysis and a love for the genre to his reporting.
Netflix has announced the launch of new, IP-based yule logs for 2025.

Now that Thanksgiving is in the rearview mirror, audiences can look forward to Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, and the other winter holidays that make it desirable to curl up next to a fire and watch the snow fall. If you don’t have a fireplace at your house, though, the best way to achieve this effect is with a streaming Yule log from a service like Netflix. These can bring that cozy living room feel to any home, and on Monday, Netflix revealed it was launching three new Yule logs to help celebrate the 2025 holiday season.

Key Details:

  • Not so strange: Coinciding with the launch of its fifth season, Netflix has unveiled a “Stranger Things” Yule log.
  • Principal’s office: A “Wednesday” Yule log is also now available on Netflix.
  • Get supernatural: The streamer has rolled out a log themed after “KPop Demon Hunters.”

The first Netflix Yule log introduced in 2025 is the “Stranger Things“-themed log, which takes viewers inside the Byers’ living room from the show’s first season. The reveal of a new “Stranger Things” Yule log lines up with the release of the first part of Season 5 of the series, which came out on Nov. 26.

Next, fans can now enjoy a “Wednesday” Yule log that transports viewers to the office of Principal Weems herself at Nevermore Academy. Eagle-eyed viewers will want to keep an eye out for a special appearance from Thing, and audiences can now stream both available seasons of “Wednesday” on Netflix as well.

The last of the three new Yule logs from Netflix is an homage to its hugely successful 2025 movie “KPop Demon Hunters,” which was a hit in its limited theatrical release over the summer. The “KPop Demon Hunters” Yule log takes users into Gwi-Ma’s underworld layer, with original music, new instrumental versions of songs from the movie, and more.

The use of Yule logs to celebrate major releases is not a new tactic by Netflix. The streamer similarly released three title-based logs in December 2024 which no doubt drove viewers back to those shows and movies.
