Newsmax+ Sees 150,000 Users Sign Up in First Month

The conservative news streaming service is off to the races, showing off an impressive subscriber total for its first 30 days.

It’s hard to underestimate the importance of live news, even as cord-cutting continues to impact the TV-watching audience. One survey from September found that all age groups used their broadcast TV channels to watch news more than any other type of programming.

  • The conservative news streaming service Newsmax+ launched at the beginning of November.
  • At the end of that month, the service had already accrued 150,000 subscribers.
  • The figure is impressive for a streamer with a niche audience and a narrow selection of content.

How is Newsmax+ Doing?

When Newsmax+ first launched earlier this month, it was undoubtedly a gamble for Newsmax. After all, the channel’s content had been streaming on a free ad-supported TV (FAST) channel on platforms like Roku and YouTube, so it was no guarantee that viewers would be willing to open their wallets to watch that content with the launch of the new service.

However, one month in and Newsmax+ is officially a success so far. The streamer has managed to accrue more than 150,000 users in that time, an impressive figure considering the narrow scope of its audience and the limited content offerings it has at launch. Newsmax+’s subscriber ceiling still remains to be determined, but it’s a promising start

What Can You Watch on Newsmax+?

Newsmax+ offers breaking news, analysis, and commentary from top Newsmax contributors like Rob Schmitt, Greta Van Susteren, Greg Kelly, Eric Bolling, and returning guests like Mike Huckabee, Dick Morris, Kari Lake, Alan Dershowitz, Rick Santorum, Victor Davis Hanson and more.

Lifestyle content is still a smaller portion of Newsmax+’s offerings, but it offers programs on the founding of America, the Civil War, greats like Abe Lincoln, George Washington, and Ronald Reagan, and World War II. The streamer also offers comedy documentaries featuring Don Rickles, Bob Hope, and more. Newsmax also advertises itself as a favorite of former President Donald Trump.

A subscription to Newsmax+ costs $4.99 per month, or $49.99 per year after a 15-day free trial. It’s the best way to ensure uninterrupted access to the full slate of offerings from Newsmax, and its arrow is very much pointing upwards from a standpoint of subscriber totals.
