Are you ready to head out on patrol for another year? The popular live, unscripted series “On Patrol: Live” is a mainstay of the Reelz channel, offering new episodes weekly on Friday and Saturday nights. Variety was first to report that “On Patrol: Live” continues, thanks to a renewal that will see the show remain on TV through at least 2026.

Key Details:

  • “On Patrol: Live” has been renewed for another 90 episodes.
  • Reelz CEO Stan Hubbard says that the channel is “all about ‘On Patrol: Live.’”
  • A lawsuit brought by A&E alleging that “On Patrol: Live” ripped off its former series was recently settled.

“On Patrol: Live” has officially locked up a renewal for another 90 episodes. The show airs live on Friday and Saturday nights each week, so a 90-episode renewal will keep the show on Reelz until at least the beginning of next year, at which point it seems likely it will be renewed again.

Ratings for Reelz have skyrocketed since “On Patrol: Live” was first added to the channel in July 2022. Viewership jumped 107% that year, and another 34% in 2023. The network’s primetime audience is up 292% since “On Patrol: Live” launched nearly three years ago, according to the network.

“It’s a tremendous amount of programming,” Reelz CEO Stan E. Hubbard told Variety. “But it’s working for us, at a time when cable networks are generally under a lot of pressure. It’s a source of pride… we’re all about ‘On Patrol: Live’ now, that’s what this network is.”

The show can look forward to a future unencumbered by its own legal troubles. A&E sued Reelz in summer 2022 over the show’s creation, alleging that it was nothing more than a ripoff of the A&E series “Live PD,” which was also hosted by Dan Abrams. The two sides settled in November, allowing Reelz to continue airing new episodes of “On Patrol: Live.”

Customers can watch Reelz on several live TV streaming services or stream the channel at no additional cost on either tier of Peacock.
