Peacock highlights cool features for mobile users
These features will ideally help boost engagement with Peacock, and help viewers catch up with their favorites or choose a new show faster.
In the increasingly competitive world of streaming, having engaging shows and movies is only part of the battle. Streamers also have to be able to engage and entertain users in ways that make them want to spend time on the platforms. To that end, Peacock has begun rolling out two key features that are designed to boost engagement among mobile subscribers.
Key Details:
- Catch up!: Peacock’s Can’t-Miss Clips will help viewers catch up to their favorites more quickly.
- Ready player one: Mini-Games will help keep viewers on the Peacock app longer.
- Phone it in: Peacock has an opportunity to change customer behavior with the rollout of these features.
The first of the two features that the NBCUniversal service is trumpeting for mobile users on both Android and iPhones is called Can’t-Miss Clips. These offer quick looks at new episodes of top series, viral moments, and must-see highlights in a playlist format that’s specially curated to show you only what you need to know.
Each day, Peacock will refresh the Can’t-Miss Clips so that they are as up-to-date a possible. You’ll find buzzy TV moments from Peacock, entertainment news, and even celebrity gossip from Bravo, E!, and more in the Can’t-Miss Clips lineup.
The next new feature is Peacock’s Mini-Games, which will offer two different types of entertainment. The first is in the form of Daily Games, which will include games of all genres, including sports, reality, and general entertainment. Fans will be able to play fun puzzle games, test their knowledge, and check out cool and multi-faceted gameplay formats at home or on the go.
Then, every week, Peacock will release new Prediction Games ahead of an episode of a particular show or a big live event. Fans will be able to vote on the fate of their favorite stars or athletes, and even challenge their friends to see who can nail the call each and every time.
These features will only be found on Peacock’s mobile app, which could be a shrewd move on NBCU’s part. A recent survey from Deloitte found that only 12% of streaming service viewing is done on phones, leaving an untapped market for Peacock to plumb. The streamer is hoping to make huge inroads with mobile users with these mobile-exclusive features.
