Has Samsung TV Plus Grown in the Past Year?
Samsung TV Plus has mostly stayed out of the headlines in the past year, though it did agree to distribution deals with Fox Weather as well as DraftKings to bring more breaking weather and sports betting options to viewers. That lack of splashy news from the streamer did not stop it from seeing its viewership jump 60% year-over-year, as Samsung announced on Thursday.
Samsung TV Plus has a channel count that stands at over 300 in the United States, and globally that number has increased to almost 2,500. It’s available in 24 countries around the world and now reaches more than 535 million connected devices.
What Is In Samsung TV Plus’s Version 5.2 Update?
That big jump in viewership wasn’t the only announcement made by Samsung TV Plus this week. The streamer is launching a big update this week — version 5.2 — which will improve content discovery, make kids’ shows and music much more accessible, and provide some other key updates that users will welcome.
The Samsung TV Plus home screen will now feature a “Best of Kids” content hub, incorporating titles from more than 20 family-friendly free streaming channels. The hub will also include on-demand movies and shows, with titles ranging from “Baby Einstein” to “Sonic the Hedgehog” and everything in between.
Samsung TV Plus has also partnered with Vevo, XITE, and Stingray to craft a music destination for its users, featuring over 200 curated playlists and 40+ music streaming channels. Beyonce, Ariana Grande, The Weekend, The Rolling Stones, and many other top artists will be available to stream in this destination, allowing viewers to turn their smart TV into a total party hub!
