‘Shrinking’ renewed for fourth season
Apple dropped the news of the show’s renewal just hours before the Season 3 premiere on Wednesday.
Wednesday is turning out to be a banner day for fans of the Apple TV comedy series “Shrinking.” The first episode of the show’s third season premiered on the service, and mere hours before its debut, Apple TV dropped the official news that fans can expect a fourth season of the show at some point in the future.
Key Details:
- Coming back: Apple has officially announced “Shrinking” will return for a fourth season.
- Good timing: The show’s third season premiere dropped on Wednesday, Jan. 28.
- Stellar ensemble: As with many Apple TV shows, “Shrinking” has assembled a fantastic cast.
Season 4 of “Shrinking” will likely drop on Apple TV sometime in 2027, if the show’s past production schedule is any indication of its future turnaround. The gap between Seasons 2 and 3 of the show was 15 months, so a timeframe of spring or summer 2027 seems reasonable.
“Shrinking” introduces fans to Jimmy Laird, a therapist who is still grappling with the death of his wife. Scrambled by his grief, Jimmy begins a new, rule-breaking therapy strategy when he starts telling his clients exactly what he thinks. This leads to predictably chaotic changes not only in their lives, but also in his own.
The show’s fourth season will see the return of stars Jason Segel and Harrison Ford, as well as Christa Miller, Emmy Award nominee Jessica Williams, Luke Tennie, Emmy Award nominee Michael Urie, Lukita Maxwell, and Ted McGinley. The show is created by Bill Lawrence and Brett Goldstein.
Season 3 of “Shrinking” premiered on Apple TV on Wednesday, Jan. 28. Fans can watch one episode per week of the series through the season finale on April 8. Apple TV costs $13 per month, and includes a seven-day free trial for all new subscribers in the United States.
Apple TV
Apple TV (formerly known as Apple TV+) is a subscription video streaming service for $14.99 per month, offering a growing slate of original series, films, documentaries, and specials. Unlike other platforms that combine licensed titles with originals, Apple TV is built entirely around exclusive programming, making it the home of critically acclaimed hits such as “Ted Lasso,” “Severance,” “The Morning Show,” and “Silo.” Its lineup continues to expand with award-winning dramas, comedies, family-friendly shows, and blockbuster original films like “CODA,” which won the Academy Award for Best Picture.
