Sling TV Offers Personalized ‘2023 Rewind’ with Most-Watched Shows and Discount for Friends
If you log into your Sling TV account today, you’ll notice that the live TV streamer is offering a chance to see your year-in-review, similar to Spotify Wrapped. They call it “Rewind,” and it also offers a discount code you can share with friends.
If you’re not a subscriber, you’ll see generic information about what programs Sling TV users watch most. If you do subscribe, you’ll learn more about your viewing habits. In my case, I got three “badges” — “Info Junkie” (because I watch a lot of news), “Hall of Famer” (because I watch sports), and “football diehard” (because I love the NFL).
Scroll down to get your “streaming companion.” In my case, Sling suggests NFL RedZone host Scott Hanson. That makes sense, since he guides me through seven hours of commercial-free football every Sunday.
Another scroll reveals your Top 10 most-watched shows.
You’ll also see a Top 10 for your state. And at the bottom, you’ll get a special offer code to give your friends and family $10/month off Sling TV for three months.
Why Should You Try Sling TV?
If you cut the cord, you may be tempted to stick with your original live TV streaming provider, but the value of Sling TV is unmatched. You can tailor your channel lineup with inexpensive packages, and Sling still offers nearly every channel you could want. The major downside is that some local channels may not be available in your area, but that’s easily fixed with the one-time cost of an antenna.
Sling TV provides an easy way to watch A&E, AMC, BET, Bravo, Cartoon Network, CNN, Comedy Central, Discovery, Disney Channel, E!, ESPN, Food Network, Fox News, Freeform, FX, HGTV, The History Channel, Investigation Discovery, Lifetime, MS NOW, SYFY, TBS, TLC, TNT, Travel Channel, truTV, and USA Network. You can add even more channels with their available packages.
The DVR allows you to record just one episode of a program - something you won’t find on other live TV streamers.
The service also works great on mobile devices, so you can watch TV when you’re on the go.
I switched to Sling after three years with YouTube TV, and I’ve been happy with the experience. I’m saving a lot of money and I still have my most-watched channels. I would actually recommend Sling TV as a cord-cutter’s first choice for live TV. You can always switch to a more expensive provider if Sling didn’t meet your needs, but you’ll be surprised with the value you get for your money.
Sling TV
Sling TV is The Streamable’s choice for cord-cutters on a budget. Sling is a live TV streaming service with multiple channel packages. The $45.99/month Sling Orange plan offers about 30 channels, including Disney Channel and ESPN. The $45.99/month Sling Blue plan offers about 40 channels, including ABC, Fox, and NBC in major markets.
You can combine Orange+Blue for a total of $60.99 / month. Sling also offers many channel add-on packages starting at $6/month.
