Spectrum TV app launching for Fire TV
Customers will be able to stream their Spectrum channels with their Fire TV device once the rollout is complete.
Having a Spectrum TV subscription is about to get even better. On Tuesday, Spectrum announced that a new, native Spectrum TV app would be available on Amazon Fire TV devices in the near future. The Spectrum app’s expansion will allow customers to watch the top cable channels in their package on a host of new devices!
Key Details:
- Not long now: The Spectrum TV App is launching on Amazon Fire TVs in April.
- Watch here: The app will allow customers to watch their Spectrum channels, pause live TV, access DVR recordings, and more.
- Streaming extras: Spectrum TV plans offer a wide range of additional streaming services attached.
The Spectrum TV App will be launched on Amazon Fire TV devices starting on April 15. The app will be available to use by all Spectrum TV customers at no extra cost, and its rollout on Fire TV means it will now be available on one of the most-used streaming devices in the United States.
The Spectrum TV App will allow subscribers to watch the channels included in their package on the Fire TV family of devices and will allow customers to watch select sports using Spectrum TV’s Multiview feature, putting the action up on the big screen.
The app also lets Spectrum TV customers access their Cloud DVR recordings and watch on-demand entertainment found in the Spectrum TV app. Spectrum customers get access to a huge amount of on-demand titles, as the company includes streaming services like Disney+, HBO Max, Hulu, Paramount+, and many more at no extra cost with its TV Select plan.
“The Spectrum TV App is designed to fit seamlessly into how customers stream TV today,” Spectrum SVP Elena Ritchie said. “Making it available on Amazon Fire TV devices will give our customers even more flexibility to access their Spectrum TV service on the streaming platforms they use every day.”
The Spectrum TV App will be available on Fire TV devices running Fire OS 6+ or Vega OS, including the Fire TV 4K Select, Fire TV 4K Max, Fire TV Omni QLED Series, Hisense U6, TCL QM64L Series, and Panasonic Z95B.
“Our mission at Fire TV is to get customers to the content they want fast, and we’re super excited to add Spectrum TV to the Fire TV experience,” Amazon Fire TV VP Aidan Marcuss said. “Spectrum customers will now soon be able to access the Spectrum TV App on a wide range of smart, powerful, and fast Fire TV devices, from Fire TV Sticks to Fire TV-powered Smart TVs from leading TV brands.”
