‘And Just Like That…’ canceled
HBO Max wanted to revive the magic of “Sex and the City” with “And Just Like That…,” a series that centers on many of the same characters as they continue their life journeys in their 50s. On Aug. 1, however, Deadline reported that the series will end with its 12-episode third season, which is currently airing. The show will conclude with a two-part finale, and the final episode will be dropped on Thursday, Aug. 14.
“SJP and I held off announcing the news until now because we didn’t want the word ‘final’ to overshadow the fun of watching the season,” showrunner Michael Patrick King said of the cancellation. “It’s with great gratitude we thank all the viewers who have let these characters into their homes and their hearts over these many years.”

Disney+’s integration with Hulu took all the headlines for the streamer this week, but fans also got news that the streamer will welcome one of the studio’s most popular movies of 2025 in the coming weeks. The live-action adaptation of “Lilo & Stitch” will begin streaming on Disney+ on Sept. 3, just a few days after The Streamable predicted it would be released. Despite making changes from the animated version that were controversial with some fans, “Lilo & Stitch” made over $1 billion worldwide.

According to the announcement, the relaunched JOURNY.tv will “feature refreshed branding, a revamped programming lineup, and the debut of new original series, including a restored Travel Magazine show featuring a wide variety of the best and brightest content creators in the travel sector.”

Disney CEO suggests other company’s sports could come to ESPN
ESPN’s new streaming service will launch on Aug. 21, marking the first time that fans will be able to watch the linear ESPN family of channels without a pay-TV subscription. During Disney’s quarterly earnings call on Wednesday, company CEO Bob Iger said there had been discussions with other companies regarding adding their sports to the platform, as well.
Iger acknowledged that sports fans often have a hard time finding their favorite team or top event, and adding sports from other companies could be a big step in resolving that problem. Any efforts to add competitor sports to ESPN could face pushback from cable distributors, much like the ill-fated Venu Sports joint sports streaming venture from Disney, Fox, and Warner Bros. Discovery that was eventually quashed by anti-trust complaints.
DAZN launches more Manchester City content
DAZN is a sports streaming service determined to expand its reach. Those efforts took another step forward on Monday, when the service announced the creation of a “club environment” for the Manchester City soccer team on the DAZN platform. It comes with a lineup of on-demand programming, including interviews with players, behind-the-scenes footage, press conferences, and more. This content hub is free to use, and while it won’t feature live games, it’s a new way for Man City fans to engage more deeply with their favorite club.
