‘Ted Lasso’ star drops tantilizing hint about the show’s return
Nick Mohammed heavily teased the potential revival of ‘Ted Lasso’ in a new social media post.
For months, an increasing number of signs have pointed to the return of “Ted Lasso” in some capacity. Fans of the Emmy-winning Apple TV+ series have been aching for more since the conclusion of Season 3, which at one point was intended to be the last. But there have been a growing number of signals that the show will return, and the latest comes from Nick Mohammed, the actor who portrays Nathan Shelley in the series. As his comedy alter ego Mr. Swallow, Mohammed posted a video on X (the social media site formerly known as Twitter) on Jan. 16 offering the most concrete evidence yet that “Ted Lasso” is coming back for another go-around.
Key Details:
- In the video, Mohammed says he is being forced to rearrange dates for his live show thanks to unavoidable filming conflicts.
- The actor says he cannot confirm what show he’s filming for but also holds up a “Believe” sign while discussing the schedule change.
- Some reports have indicated the show will begin pre-production as soon as this month.
Mohammed’s post is ostensibly about a slate of performances of his stage show “Mr. Swallow: Show Pony.” Mohammed says he’s being forced to reschedule several of those performances, thanks to filming for a project that he cannot reschedule.
The actor says that while he cannot confirm what that filming will be for, an official announcement is coming soon. While imploring viewers not to speculate what project he’ll be working on, Mohammed comically holds up a partially-obscured “Believe” sign in his hand, a definite reference to “Ted Lasso.” You can see the video for yourself below.

This is just the latest clue that the show is indeed returning for a fourth season. In August, several of the show’s key stars had their contract options for a fourth season picked up. In October, reports circulated that the series could start pre-production as early as this month.
The rescheduled shows on Mohammed’s tour were originally intended to take place in May, so there’s a good chance that “Ted Lasso” will begin filming again this spring. Should that schedule hold true, fans could see new episodes on Apple TV+ as soon as late 2025 or early 2026.
There has been nearly unending speculation around what a fourth season of “Ted Lasso” will be about, considering the storyline of Jason Sudeikis’ titular character was seemingly wrapped up at the end of Season 3. That speculation will only ramp up, as it appears to be all but official that “Ted Lasso” is indeed coming back for a new batch of episodes.
