Verizon adds Fox One as perk for select plans
Subscribers to Verizon’s myHome and myPlan can get Fox One for $15 per month, a $5 discount.
Verizon knows full well that viewers are looking for a more convenient way to bundle their streaming services together. Consumer data has continued to show that people want a platform that lets them manage their subscriptions all in one place, and Verizon provides just that by giving its customers access to streaming services, then keeping those subscriptions all on the same bill. On Wednesday, Verizon announced it was now offering Fox One as a benefit to select subscribers.
Key Details:
- New Verizons: Fox One is available as a perk for customers on the myPlan and myHome plans as of Oct. 23.
- Good discount: Fox One is available for $15 through Verizon, instead of its original $20.
- All in one place: Fox One has the vast majority of Fox’s offerings, including Fox Sports and Fox News channels.
Fox One is being added as an optional benefit for customers of the myPlan mobile service and the myHome internet plan offered by Verizon. Customers will be able to add Fox One to those plans starting on Thursday, Oct. 23, when it will join streamers like Netflix, HBO Max, and other premium services. Verizon used to distribute streaming services through a digital platform called the +play store, but it was shut down in July.
Perhaps the best news is that customers who opt to sign up for Fox One through Verizon get a $5 discount on the service. Fox One normally retails for $20 per month, but myPlan and myHome subscribers get to add it to their accounts for only $15 per month.
“Our promise is simple: everyone gets a better deal with Verizon. The FOX One perk is the latest proof of that commitment,” Verizon SVP Angie Klein said. “With this new option, customers get even more choice, savings and flexibility to build the plan that works for them - no strings attached - all backed by America’s Best 5G network.”
Fox One first launched on Aug. 21, and offers viewers access to a huge selection of Fox-owned channels without the need for a pay-TV package. The service comes with live streams of Fox, FS1, FS2, Fox News, Fox Weather, and more.
“This partnership with Verizon is a step forward in expanding how audiences can experience and enjoy our sports, news and entertainment programming,” Fox Corp SVP Tony Billetter said. “Together, we’re providing viewers with more choice and accessibility, and we’re excited to deliver this incredible value to Verizon’s myPlan and myHome customers.”
