It’s the most wonderful time of the year: Holiday rom-com season!

It’s the most wonderful time of the year: Holiday rom-com season!

We’ve got all of the details that you need to watch all of the new cozy and comfy holiday movies this year.

With a background in sports and entertainment reporting, he’s covered everything from Broadway to college football. He cut the cord in 2014 and has a sharp eye for streaming trends and a soft spot for Hallmark movies.

No matter whether you start celebrating Christmas on Black Friday, Nov. 1, or Labor Day, one of the tell-tale signs that it is, in fact, the holiday season is when cable channels and streaming services start releasing their holiday originals. While the total number of holiday series, specials, and movies is down compared to last year's record number, there are still a ton of light-hearted rom-coms to keep you smiling from now until the new year.

We have rounded up all of the offerings hitting cable and streaming this season from the usual suspects like the Hallmark Channel, Lifetime, Great American Family, OWN, the Roku Channel, Netflix, and UPtv. As more details are announced about titles and premiere dates, we will update this article, so make sure to bookmark it and check regularly (personally, I save it in the Bookmarks Bar on my laptop browser, so I can always check what’s airing next).

Check out all of the original holiday shows and movies this year:

What streaming service is best for holiday movies?

When it comes to feel-good holiday movies, the vast majority of them are available on traditional cable channels. While that makes it convenient if you already have a cable, satellite, or live TV streaming subscription, if you are a cord-cutter, it can be overwhelming to try and figure out which service will be best for you.

In my expert opinion, if you are looking specifically for a streamer that carries the top cable channels offering this type of holiday fare, then Philo is the way to go. Philo is focused on this type of lean-back entertainment, so it doesn’t come with the more expensive news and sports channels that often clutter up live streamers and drive up their prices. This skinny-bundle service has [channels: great-american-family, hallmark-channel, lifetime, own, uptv), so when it comes to the holiday movies on linear channels, you will be set.

The other benefit of Philo is that it only costs $33 per month, much cheaper than its competitors, and it comes with a seven-day free trial, so you can test out the service to see if it works for you before paying a penny. And as an added benefit, Philo includes subscriptions to AMC+, discovery+, and HBO Max for free.
