Deck the Halls and Stream All of the Holiday Rom-Com Shows, Movies This Season!
Hallmark Channel has its usual big list of new holiday classics for audiences to cozy up with, but what else can you stream?
The calendar may say October, but the holiday season is just around the corner. That means your favorite cable networks and streaming services are gearing up to roll out seasonal holiday shows and movies, with new titles and beloved classics on the schedule. From Hallmark Channel’s annual Countdown to Christmas to Great American Family’s Great American Christmas and It’s a Wonderful Lifetime, there’s a huge number of new and returning Christmas and holiday-themed titles headed to your TV.
The unquestioned leader in the holiday rom-com industry is Hallmark, and across the Hallmark Channel, Hallmark Mystery, and the newly rebranded Hallmark+, the feel-good brand is rolling out a slate of nearly 50 titles starting on Friday, Oct. 18. Upstart cable and streaming competitor Great American Family has unveiled a lineup of dozens of movies — some new and some from years gone by — beginning Saturday, Oct. 19. And outlets like Lifetime, Netflix, Roku, Apple TV+, and more are still in the process of releasing details about their holiday slates. As more titles, stars, and dates are released, the expert elves here at The Streamable will keep this list of holiday cheer updated.
Which Holiday Shows and Movies Have Been Announced?
What’s the best way to stream holiday shows and movies in 2024?
On-demand streaming services are getting in on the holiday action this year, but cord-cutters will still find the biggest selection on live TV streaming services that carry channels like Hallmark Channel, Great American Family, and Lifetime.
So, if you are looking for a streamer that carries all of the cable channels that traditionally air holiday-themed rom-coms, we suggest signing up for Frndly TV. You will miss out on the Disney Channel and OWN — both of which have had original holiday programming in the past — but neither has yet announced any new titles coming this season. Frndly’s base package starts at just $8 per month, and is a perfect way to stream all of the new feel-good films of the season.
We also recommend checking out Philo if you want a few more options beyond the very skinny bundle from Frndly, and Hulu + Live TV if you want a complete live TV streaming package that gets you the best access to all of this year’s movies.
