Which sports will Netflix have in 2026?
Netflix has made some big-time new sports deals in 2026. Which
Netflix is the worldwide leader in streaming, and while it hasn’t acquired as many live sports rights as other services, it’s starting to catch up fast. For many years, Netflix executives stayed away from the world of live sports, convinced that pursuits of big-name sports rights would not deliver a return on the huge investment required, but the streamer’s philosophy has been steadily shifting in recent months.
To be sure, Netflix is still only interested in sports that it can shine as bright a spotlight on as possible, such as major island games from the NFL and MLB. What are all the live sports that will come to Netflix in the new year? We give you a rundown of what we know so far below!
What sports are available on Netflix?
What live sports will Netflix offer in 2026?
This year will be Netflix’s third year as an NFL partner. It’s the final year of a contract Netflix signed with the league in 2024, and while there is a good chance that more NFL games end up on the streamer in the years to come, there’s nothing in writing between the two as of the time of this writing. Still, we do know that Netflix will offer NFL action on Christmas Day once again in 2026.
Before the streamer makes your yuletide bright with gridiron action, Netflix could offer some top boxing matches in 2026. Nothing is on the books as of now, but there are plenty of rumors about a possible rematch of the showdown between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao happening on Netflix in 2026. Jake Paul could return to the streamer at some point this year as well, and Netflix is undeniably building its reputation as a boxing platform.
For wrestling fans, Netflix is continuing to offer weekly episodes of “WWE Raw” on Monday nights this year. Netflix holds the rights to stream the series live for the next decade. In January, Netflix announced it was adding the WWE library of past premium live events as well, so viewers can now watch decades’ worth of WWE history on the streamer.
New to Netflix in 2026 is a package of MLB rights. As announced in November 2025, Netflix will stream special spotlight MLB events, including the league’s Field of Dreams game, the opening night game, and the Home Run Derby. Additionally, Netflix will stream the World Baseball Classic in Japan starting this year.
What sports rights could Netflix acquire in the future?
With its busy 2025 in the rearview mirror, industry analysts are now watching to see if Netflix will mount a major effort to get a Sunday package of NFL games. There’s been a bit of mixed messaging from the streamer on the subject, and having Christmas games three years in a row may have put the taste for more in Netflix’s mouth.
The NFL could start negotiating its next broadcast deals as soon as this year, so we will have more information on whether or not Netflix will go after a bigger selection of games before too long.
Netflix has already acquired the rights to the FIFA Women’s World Cup, which it will stream live in both 2027 and 2031.
Are Netflix’s live sports available in 4K?
Netflix has confirmed in the past that some sporting events, such as 2024’s Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson boxing match, were available in 4K for Premium subscribers.
Its NFL games have not been available in 4K, however, so the ability to stream Netflix live sporting events in Ultra-High-Definition seems to vary depending on the sport.
