What is Season 2 of ‘Twisted Metal’ about?

In Season 2 of “Twisted Metal,” John and Quiet put their lives on the line once again in a demolition derby tournament. If they win, they will be granted any wish they can think of, but 16 other drivers have just as much motivation to win the tournament. The only certainty is that not all of the drivers will make it out of the Twisted Metal demolition derby alive.

The show’s writer, showrunner, and executive producer Michael Jonathan Smith had this to say about the new season:

“The stakes couldn’t be higher as John Doe (Anthony Mackie) and Quiet (Stephanie Beatriz) risk their lives to compete in a dangerous demolition derby tournament. The prize? A single wish, their greatest heart’s desire, granted. The only problem is sixteen other drivers have wishes of their own. Anthony Mackie and Stephanie Beatriz lead a stellar cast, including Will Arnett & Joe Seanoa (aka Samoa Joe) as fan favorite Sweet Tooth, and Anthony Carrigan as the iconic tournament host Calypso, in a fast-paced, hysterical, thrilling season with unforgettable characters. It’s too bad not all of them will survive.”

What happened in Season 1 of ‘Twisted Metal’?

“Twisted Metal” takes place in a stylized, post-apocalyptic world in which major cities are walled off to keep criminals out. It centers on John Doe, a talkative but amnesiac courier enlisted to deliver a mysterious package across what’s left of the United States.

Along the way, he meets an axe-wielding car thief named Quiet who complements him perfectly because she doesn’t talk. She’s still pretty expressive with her middle finger, however. John and Quiet make their way to their destination, chased by marauders, the worst of whom is a deranged clown who travels in an ice cream truck.
