Mark Rober bringing new series, more content to Netflix
Mark Rober bringing new series, more content to Netflix
The YouTuber will launch a new series on Netflix, and will bring some of his most popular experiments to the streamer this year.
Netflix is leaning even further into YouTube’s popularity. Instead of trying to beat the free social streaming platform at its own game, Netflix is simply pursuing top YouTube talents to appear on its own platform. That trend continued on Monday, when Netflix announced it was gearing up to welcome content from beloved YouTuber Mark Rober.
Key Details:
- Experiments in fun: Some of Rober’s most beloved experiments are launching on Netflix in 2025.
- Bigger things ahead: Rober will also launch a new kids competition show on Netflix in 2026.
- Join the club!: Netflix has already seen success by welcoming YouTuber Ms. Rachel onto its platform.
The deal between Rober and Netflix will see some of the former NASA engineer’s most popular experiments stream there later this year. Rober is a huge social video star, having compiled over 76 million subscribers across YouTube, TikTok, Facebook, and Instagram.
The fun continues in 2026, when Rober will launch an as-yet unnamed kids and family competition series. The show will be produced by Rober’s company, CrunchLabs, in partnership with Jimmy Kimmel’s Kimmelot. See the announcement of the deal between Rober and Netflix below.

“I love turning learning into a game, basically hiding the vegetables in the dessert, and now it’s a full-on competition game show!” Rober said. “When you’re having fun, you’re learning without even realizing it. And teaming up with Netflix and Jimmy Kimmel to make this happen? This is gonna be epic!”
Rober has made a name for himself with his off-the-wall experiments, like creating a pool full of Jell-O and throwing an unhittable baseball. His arrival on Netflix marks the latest example of a YouTuber who has transitioned to that platform; Ms. Rachel, another beloved YouTube star, has seen her show be streamed for 2.6 billion minutes between January and April 2025 on Netflix and YouTube combined.
It remains to be seen if other streaming services will pursue YouTube stars the way Netflix has done. YouTube continually beats Netflix and other streaming services with its share of total TV viewing as measured by Nielsen, and Netflix clearly isn’t afraid to leverage that popularity for its own gain.
