Subscription streaming services can offer a large number of different ways to gain access to their content. Many streamers are available in bundles with other on-demand services, and can also be included free as a benefit when viewers sign up for pay-TV plans as well.
Live TV streaming services like DIRECTV do things a little differently. There’s usually only one way to sign up for them — directly through the service’s website. Is that the only way to sign up for DIRECTV — and how many ways can you receive your channel package? Which streamers are bundled with DIRECTV plans? Find out here.

What are all the methods of getting DIRECTV?
DIRECTV began its life as a satellite TV company, and customers can still sign up to receive a DIRECTV Signature channel package with a professionally installed satellite dish. Doing so does come with equipment fees, however, and you’ll have to wait to watch your plan until your dish can be installed successfully.
You can also stream a DIRECTV channel package using your own internet connection, instead of a satellite dish. You can choose two ways to receive a streaming package from DIRECTV: using your own smart TV, Roku or Amazon Fire TV stick or other streaming player to watch through the DIRECTV app; or getting a DIRECTV Gemini device from the company and streaming channels with it instead.
Which streamers can you get for free with DIRECTV?
DIRECTV Signature channel packages come with Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN Unlimited at no additional cost if you choose to receive your channel plan through a Gemini device. This benefit is available to all DIRECTV Signature subscribers, from the ENTERTAINMENT package up.
DIRECTV Genre Packs also come with on-demand streaming services bundled. The MyKids package comes with Disney+ included, and the MyEntertainment plan includes Disney+, Hulu, HBO Max, and starting in 2026, AMC+. The MySports plan incorporates ESPN Unlimited, and the MiEspanol package includes ViX Premium.
