Amazon Prime Day Preview: Big Savings on Crunchyroll, Paramount+ with SHOWTIME, Other Streamers

Prime Day is coming on July 16-17, and Amazon has already revealed some streaming deals that will be very hard to pass up.

The annual Prime Day discounts are on their way, including great deals on smart TVs and streaming services.

Amazon is getting antsy for Prime Day. The annual online shopping extravaganza is scheduled for July 16 and 17, but ahead of the big day Amazon has revealed some of the biggest deals on streaming services and smart TVs that will be available this year! There are discounts worth waiting for coming to Paramount+ with SHOWTIME, AMC+, STARZ, Crunchyroll and the MGM+ App, plus some great bargains on streaming devices and connected TVs that will allow shoppers to start watching their new streamer with ease.

Remember, this is just a preview of deals to come, and there are likely more to be revealed.

Key Details:

  • Streamers like Crunchyroll and AMC+ will be on sale for just $0.99 per month for two months.
  • Shoppers can skip the madness and save over 30% on select Insignia-manufactured Amazon Fire TVs now.
  • Streaming sticks, sound bars and even wireless headphones are likely to go on sale for Prime Day as well.

Which Streaming Services Will Be on Sale for Prime Day?

A wide range of streaming services to fit every desire will be available on sale this Prime Day.
  • AMC+: Enjoy 50% off monthly subscription for up to two months to watch “Interview with the Vampire,” “The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live” and more (normally $4.99 per month for ad-supported plan, $8.99 for ad-free).
  • Crunchyroll: Get a subscription for just $0.99 per month for up to two months and stream thousands of new and classic anime episodes (plans normally start at $7.99 per month).
  • MGM+: Get a subscription for just $0.99 per month for up to two months and stream “Godfather of Harlem,” tons of movies and much more (normally $6.99 per month).
  • Paramount+ with SHOWTIME: Enjoy 50% off monthly subscription for up to two months and watch the full libraries of Paramount+ and SHOWTIME ad-free, plus your local CBS station (normally $11.99 per month).
  • STARZ: Get a subscription for just $0.99 per month for up to two months and watch the last season of “Power Book II: Ghost,” “Outlander” and hundreds of other titles (normally $9.99 per month).

Which Smart TVs and Streaming Devices Will Be On Sale for Prime Day?

Two Amazon Fire TV sets are already on sale, and more deals are coming.

There are already two Amazon Fire TV smart sets available at deep discounts now, so you don’t have to wait until Prime Day to get your hands on a new screen! Keep in mind, however, that prices may dip even lower if you wait.

Amazon has also revealed the Fire TV Cube 3rd Generation streaming device will be on sale, though a price has not yet been unveiled. The Fire TV Cube is the most powerful streaming player in the Amazon Fire TV family, and comes with support for Wi-Fi 6E, Ultra-High-Definition 4K video, Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos, and hands-free Alexa assistance.

What Else Do We Think Amazon Will Slash Prices for on Prime Day?

There’s almost certain to be more deals available on additional Amazon Fire TV devices. In years past, Amazon has discounted Fire TV sets in all shapes and sizes, and has also offered savings on its entire line of Fire TV streaming players, from the Fire TV Stick HD all the way up to the Fire TV cube. I anticipate that will hold true in 2024 as well. Deals are likely to start at around $20 for HD streaming sticks, and may even include brands like Roku.

There will also likely be sales on devices that could enhance your streaming experience further, like sound bars and wireless headphones to take your sound quality to the next level. Past Prime Days have featured excellent deals on such devices, as well as Ring video doorbells and other accessories that you can tie into your Alexa-powered home entertainment suite.

There are likely to be more streaming services offered at discounts, as well. Last year, Amazon provided deals on streamers like Acorn TV, PBS Kids, Hallmark Movies Now and many others in addition to the streamers listed above, so there’s a good chance more streaming bargains are on the way. The company has also pledged to slash the price of individual movies in its Prime Video digital store, so if you’ve been waiting for a specific title to drop in price, the wait may be about to end!

Amazon’s Prime Day is a yearly sales event exclusively available to Prime members. This year, it begins on Tuesday, July 16, when a wide array of deals on big-name streaming services and various smart TVs and streaming players will go live to the over 200 million global Prime subscribers.

Amazon Prime Video

Amazon Prime Video is a subscription video streaming service that includes on-demand access to 10,000+ movies, TV shows, and Prime Originals like “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power,” “Jack Ryan,” “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel,” “The Boys,” and more. Subscribers can also add third-party services like Max, Showtime, STARZ, and dozens more with Amazon Prime Video Channels. Prime Video also offers exclusive live access to NFL Thursday Night Football.

The Prime Video interface shows content included with your subscription alongside the ad-supported Freevee library and some shows and movies you need to purchase, so be sure to double-check your selection before you watch.

Prime Video is included with Amazon Prime for $14.99 per month ($139 per year), or can be purchased on its own for $8.99 per month.
