Exclusive New York Yankees Games Return to Prime Video in 2024; Full Schedule Released

Prime Video will be the home of 21 Yankees games this season, 19 of which will occur on Wednesday nights.

With a background in sports and entertainment reporting, he’s covered everything from Broadway to college football. He cut the cord in 2014 and has a sharp eye for streaming trends and a soft spot for Hallmark movies.

It is getting increasingly difficult for sports fans to watch all of their favorite team’s games in one convenient, centralized streaming location. Between regional sports networks (RSNs) and streaming exclusives, it is nearly impossible to keep up with where your team is playing without a scorecard. That is doubly true when you follow one of the most popular franchises in all of sports, because then you have to factor in network and cable national broadcasts as well. Fans of the New York Yankees are used to this, and on Friday, they got the details on which Bronx Bombers’ games would be streaming exclusively on Prime Video.

Key Points:

  • For the third-straight year Yankees games will stream on Prime Video.
  • There will be 21 NYY on Amazon’s streamer this season for fans in the team’s home market.
  • The YES Network will handle the production and broadcasting of the Prime Video games.

For the third year in a row, the Yankees will air over 20 games on Amazon’s flagship streaming service instead of on their regular RSN home the YES Network. However, those 21 games this season will be produced by YES, including the channel’s iconic play-by-play announcer Michael Kay and a rotating group of analysts of Yankee greats David Cone, Paul O’Neill, Joe Girardi, John Flaherty, and Jeff Nelson.

The Prime Video games will feature the Bombers matching up with cross-town rival the New York Mets, bitter rivals the Boston Red Sox, the defending World Series champion Texas Rangers, and more. These games will only be available to viewers in the Yankee’s traditional home broadcast footprint of Connecticut, the state of New York, north and central New Jersey, and northeast Pennsylvania. Nineteen of the 21 games on Prime Video this season will be on Wednesday nights, beginning with the NYY’s April 10th matchup against the Miami Marlins.

Amazon’s streaming platform will also bring fans access to YES’ pre and post-game coverage as well. Meredith Marakovits will handle the pre-game shows for home games and Bob Lorenz will host pre-game shows for away games while Marakovits is with the team on the road, providing live interviews and reports from the field.

Prime Video will again be bringing its signature X-Ray technology to all of the Yankees games that it broadcasts. The first-of-its-kind sports tech allows viewers to access live, in-game stats unlike any other streaming platform on the market. Fans watching on Android, iOS mobile, and Amazon Fire TV devices, they can check out team and player details and real-time play-by-play information without clicking out of their Prime Video window. For viewers who do not live in the Yankees’ home market, they will still be able to stream the game via MLB’s out-of-market streaming service MLB.TV, which will provide them with Prime Video’s coverage of the games.
