How to fix frozen Max app on popular streaming players

How to fix a frozen Max app on Amazon Fire TV

If you’re using a Fire TV or Fire stick to stream the Max app when it freezes, you’ll have two main options available to you to fix it. Using Force Stop will allow you to stay logged into Max after a reset, so we’ll try this one first.

To Force Stop the Max app on Fire TV, open the Settings menu on your device — not in the app itself. Navigate to Applications, then Manage Installed Applications. A menu of options will arrive on the screen, and you’ll want to head to the Max app. When you click on it, scroll to click Force Stop.

If this doesn’t fix the issue, a cache clearing attempt may be the only solution left. Follow the same instructions; Settings > Applications > Manage Installed Applications > Max, then click Clear Cache. Select Clear Data, and once you log into the Max app again, you should be able to watch as normal.

How to fix frozen Max app on Apple TV

Owners of Apple TV 4K devices can easily reset the Max app if it freezes. If the app freezes, double-tap the home button on your Siri remote quickly to see a screen of all your active apps. Navigate to the Max app, and then swipe up on the clickpad or touch surface to force quit the app.

You’ll have to make sure your iOS software is completely up to date as well, which will ensure all your apps are running at peak optimization on the Apple TV 4K.

How to fix a frozen Max app on Roku

If you own a Roku streaming stick or smart TV, you’ll have to take a bit more drastic action to fix a frozen Max app. First, use the star button on your remote to make sure no updates are available for your Max app.

If there aren’t any, you’ll have to try uninstalling and reinstalling the app on your device. This should fix any freezing issues you’re having with the Max app on Roku.

You can also clear the cache on your Roku device if you are still having problems. Head to Settings, choose System, then click on Advanced System Settings. Click Network connection reset, then Reset connection, and restart your Roku device to solve the problem.
