The Gotham Sports App is a new way to stream top New York professional sports teams without cable.
A new streaming app the size of the Big Apple itself is now available. The Gotham Sports App launched on Wednesday, in order to bring New York sports fans a new way to watch their favorite teams, whether they’ve got cable or not.
I’ve seen these types of streaming services launch before, and they usually come with a host of questions. I’ll answer the most pertinent questions about the new Gotham Sports App below so fans can have the most information possible before signing up!
What Are the Biggest Questions About the Gotham Sports App?
What Is the Gotham Sports App?
The Gotham Sports App is a joint venture streaming service created by the YES Network and MSG. It is a one-stop app that allows customers with YES Network or MSG via their pay-TV subscription to log in and stream the channels. However, it is more than just a centralized TV Everywhere platform. New York sports fans who don’t have a pay-TV subscription can sign up for either the YES App or MSG+ streaming services — or both — inside the Gotham Sports ap.
What Teams Are Available on the Gotham Sports App?
Customers in the right broadcast footprints can use the Gotham Sports App to stream live, non-national games from the Brooklyn Nets, Buffalo Sabres, New Jersey Devils, New York Islanders, New York Knicks, New York Rangers and New York Yankees.
Any regular season games from these teams not appearing on national cable channels — like ESPN or TNT — or streaming services — like Prime Video or Apple TV+ — will be available to stream on the Gotham Sports App. Altogether, fans can access more than 500 live regular-season games every year with the app.
How Much Does the Gotham Sports App Cost?
That all depends on how much content you want. You can use the Gotham Sports App to sign up for the YES App for $25 per month or $240 per year. This will grant viewers access to both the Yankees and the Nets during their respective regular seasons.
If you want just MSG+, you can sign up for $30 per month or $280 per year. This will bring you the Knicks, Rangers, Islanders, Devils, and Buffalo Sabres (depending on the market).
Customers can also sign up for the Gotham Package, which includes both streaming services for $360 per year, or $42 per month. This is clearly the best value, but viewers who aren’t fans of all the teams in the Gotham Package have the choice of opting for just the YES App or MSG+.
Does the Gotham Sports App Come with a Free Trial?
No, at this time the Gotham Sports App is not offering customers a free trial of any kind.
Do You Have to Have the Gotham Sports App to Sign Up for MSG+ and the YES App?

Are There Any Deals Available on the Gotham Sports App?
Yes! Between now and Nov. 15. customers can sign up for Gotham Sports App and grab the Gotham Package annual subscription for $320, that’s $40 off the normal subscription price for that plan.
