What kind of parental controls does Peacock offer?
Peacock comes with a fantastic selection of kids content, but does it have the parental controls a streamer needs if it wants kids watching?
Since Peacock includes movies from DreamWorks in its library, the streamer has a wide range of beloved kids’ franchises available. Titles like the “Shrek” and “Despicable Me” series call Peacock home, and that’s just a tiny fraction of the entertainment for younger viewers found on the service.
But it’s also true that Peacock has content that’s meant for much older audiences, and shouldn’t be seen by kids without parental supervision. Parental controls can help keep kids away from titles they shouldn’t be watching, but does Peacock offer these controls easily? Find out more about how to use parental controls on Peacock here.
What you need to know about parental controls on Peacock
Does Peacock offer parental controls?
The main way Peacock offers control over mature content is via the use of profiles. When setting up a profile on Peacock, you’ll be given the option to either create a Kids profile, a Teen profile, or an Adult profile.
Kids’ profiles can be assigned one of three maturity ratings: Little Kids, which has only TV-Y-rated content available; Older Kids, which has titles rated TV-Y all the way up to G; and Family, which has shows and movies at all rating levels up to PG.
Teen profiles get two maturity ratings to choose from; Family has the same content listed above, and Teen has titles rated up to PG-13 and TV-14.
Adult profiles can still be filtered with the Family and Teen settings, but can also include all content up to NC-17 and TV-MA.
Peacock makes it simple to find and adjust profile settings to give parents control over what kids see. Click to expand.
