Why we like Sling TV for watching the NASCAR Bass Pro Shops Night Race
When all you want to do is watch a specific live sporting event over a weekend, live TV can be pretty annoying. Sling TV is useful here because you don’t have to invest in a big monthly package if you don’t want to. There are a bunch of ways to subscribe, including a one-day pass starting at $5, three-day and seven-day options, smaller channel packages, and then the full standard lineup for $61 per month. So you can pay a much more reasonable price to get the channels and sporting events you actually want to watch.
For the Bass Pro Shops Night Race, Sling Blue is the one you want. It starts at $46 per month and includes USA Network and truTV, which means you can watch all of practice, qualifying, and the race without duct-taping services together. It also has local ABC, NBC, and Fox stations in select markets if you want to check out any NFL games in addition to The Chase.
Sling TV
Sling TV is The Streamable’s choice for cord-cutters on a budget. Sling is a live TV streaming service with multiple channel packages. The $45.99/month Sling Orange plan offers about 30 channels, including Disney Channel and ESPN. The $45.99/month Sling Blue plan offers about 40 channels, including ABC, Fox, and NBC in major markets.
You can combine Orange+Blue for a total of $60.99 / month. Sling also offers many channel add-on packages starting at $6/month.
Can you watch the NASCAR Bass Pro Shops Night Race for free?
Free trials are great for something like this because it’s just one NASCAR race over the weekend. The tough part is figuring out what the free trial for each service actually gives you because it definitely varies.
DIRECTV STREAM, Hulu + Live TV, and YouTube TV all have some version of a free trial. They’re not all equal, though, and the length of the trial can change depending on when you sign up and what offer your account gets.
The most reliable free trial is DIRECTV STREAM. You regularly get five days free, which will cover the race weekend and a few extra days to see if the rest of the package holds your interest. Hulu’s live TV package usually gives new subscribers three free days, which also works if you time it right.
YouTube TV is where things can get more complicated. It advertises trials of up to 21 days, but that doesn’t mean that’s what you’re definitely getting which can be frustrating if you’re only signing up for one race. So, just make sure you really read the checkout screen to make sure you’re getting the free trial you think you’re getting.
