Why watch the 2026 British Open with YouTube TV?
YouTube TV is the best choice for watching the 2026 British Open. It offers NBC, NBC Sports Network, and USA Network in its core package, as well as its Sports Genre Plan. The core YouTube TV plan costs $83 per month, while the Sports plan is currently discounted from the regular $65 monthly price to $55 per month for a new subscriber’s first year of service.
The base YouTube TV package has 100+ channels, including local broadcast networks, sports, news, and entertainment channels. The Sports Genre Plan slims the total down to around 30 channels, but still includes top national sports networks like ESPN, FS1, and USA Network, along with local channels.
What really sets YouTube TV apart from the competition, however, is the inclusion of NBC Sports Network in both plans. This channel is a repository for sports programming that’s otherwise exclusive to the Peacock streaming service, so having YouTube TV means you won’t have to seek out a live TV streaming subscription plus a Peacock subscription to watch all of the 2026 British Open. As of now, no other major live TV streaming service carries YouTube TV in its package. Plus, YouTube TV is currently advertising a 10-day free trial for new subscribers!
YouTube TV
YouTube TV is a live TV streaming service with more than 60 channels for $82.99/month. This plan includes local channels 32 of the top 35 cable channels, and regional sports networks (RSNs) in select markets. The base plan includes more than 100 live channels, including major broadcast networks like ABC, CBS, FOX, and NBC, as well as popular cable channels such as ESPN, CNN, FX, USA Network, and TNT. Local channels are included in most markets, making YouTube TV a full replacement for traditional cable for many viewers.

Can you watch the 2026 British Open for free?
Peacock does not offer a free trial, so outside of a YouTube TV subscription, it will be impossible to watch all of the 2026 British Open for free. However, there are some services that offer both NBC and USA Network and include free trials.
DIRECTV carries NBC and USA Network in its Signature channel plans, as well as the MySports Genre Pack. New customers get a five-day free trial of DIRECTV when they first sign up. However, DIRECTV does not offer NBCSN in any of its packages.
Fubo is still in the process of restoring NBC in some markets, after a months-long blackout knocked the channel off the streamer. NBC and USA Network are found in the Fubo Pro and Elite plans, but it doesn’t offer the NBC Sports Network either. Fubo does come with a free trial of between one and seven days for new customers, depending on numerous variables.

All the services you can use to watch the 2026 British Open
DIRECTV, Fubo, Sling TV, and YouTube TV can all be used to watch coverage of the 2026 British Open. Of these various choices, however, YouTube TV is our favorite. Sling TV doesn’t carry NBC in all markets and also does not have NBC Sports Network, so it’s not an ideal choice for watching.
Hulu + Live TV does not have NBCSN or USA Network in its channel package at this time.
Peacock subscribers can watch coverage of the British Open on Thursday and Friday mornings until 4 a.m., then on Saturday and Sunday from 7 a.m. through the afternoon. Live sports are available with Peacock’s Premium subscription, starting at $11 per month.
Peacock
Peacock is a subscription video streaming service from NBCUniversal that includes original shows, blockbuster movies, and classic television series. Peacock is home to “Yellowstone,” “The Office,” and original hits like “Poker Face” and “Bel-Air.” You can also watch live sports and NBC programming, including the NFL, MLB, WWE, the Olympics, the Premier League, NASCAR, the French Open, college football and basketball, and the PGA Tour. Premium Plus subscribers can stream their local NBC feed in all 210 markets.
