When will ‘Minions & Monsters’ stream at home?

Kids will be begging to see the new Minions movie, but when will parents be able to stream it for the family at home?

Minions and Monsters arrives in theaters on July 1, but when will it stream?

Would it truly be summer without those little yellow Minions popping up again? The mischievous beings are back in a new feature film, “Minions & Monsters,” which will be available in theaters in the United States starting Wednesday, July 1. The movie isn’t available to stream yet, but we’ll predict when we think the mayhem of “Minions & Monsters” will be available to watch at home below!

Key Details:

  • Silly fun: Critics are generally praising “Minions & Monsters” as another entertaining entry in the franchise.
  • Major stops: Peacock will be the first streamer to get “Minions & Monsters,” then it will go to Netflix.
  • Long wait?: Recent animated releases from Universal suggest that “Minions & Monsters” could take more than 100 days to stream.

They’re at it again! “Minions & Monsters” tells the completely true story of how the absurd Minions conquered Hollywood and became bona fide movie stars. But at the height of their popularity, they risk losing everything by unleashing a series of horrifying monsters into the world. Can they save the planet from the mayhem they’ve created?

“Minions & Monsters” isn’t exactly breaking any new cinematic ground, but critics are finding it worthy summer fun nevertheless. The film has a score of 88% on Rotten Tomatoes, and a 68 on Metacritic, indicating “Generally Favorable” reviews. The movie won’t blow anyone away with originality, but it will keep kids and parents laughing through its 90-minute runtime.

When will ‘Minions & Monsters’ stream at home?

“Minions & Monsters” is distributed by Universal in the United States, which means it will head to the NBCUniversal streaming service Peacock once it leaves theaters. Thanks to a Pay-2 deal with Netflix, the movie will shift to that streamer after a four-month stay on Peacock.

How long will it take for “Minions & Monsters” to stream on Peacock? It’s likely to be a longer wait than some fans may like. The last major release in the franchise was “Despicable Me 4,” which took 120 days to arrive on Peacock after first debuting in theaters.

“Despicable Me 4” brought in nearly $1 billion at the box office, and while I’m not sure “Minions & Monsters” will reach those heights of success, I think it will follow a similar box-office window. My official prediction is that the movie will arrive on Peacock on Friday, Oct. 30, 121 days from its initial release. If that proves accurate, the film will arrive on Netflix in early March 2027.
