MS NOW launching new streaming service
MS NOW Membership will cost $8 per month, and will feature 24/7 live access to the linear channel.
Ever since Versant split from NBCUniversal, viewers have questioned where titles from channels like CNBC, MS NOW, and USA Network would stream, since they no longer lived under the same corporate umbrella as Peacock. That question has now been answered for one of these channels; MS NOW is launching a new direct-to-consumer (DTC) streaming service to provide fans with an on-demand option to stream the channel’s news and opinion programming.
Key Details:
- Starting price: MS NOW Membership will cost $8 per month.
- Watch live: The platform will have a live stream of the MS NOW cable channel and more content.
- Join the club: CNN and Fox News also have direct-to-consumer options now available.
The new DTC service will be called MS NOW Membership and will cost $8 per month or $80 per year. It’s due to launch on Sept. 9, and will do so with an introductory offer of $40 for a new subscriber’s first year, a 50% discount off the standard price.
MS NOW Membership will offer a continuous live stream of the left-leaning cable news channel, as well as original creative content, and options for engaging with the network’s most popular journalists. It will emphasize community features and interactivity and will welcome a new lineup of contributors and experts.
“Our Membership is the first step in a long-term strategy to deepen our relationship with audiences in ways that build on what they already value about MS NOW, while addressing what consumers told us was missing from the news experience,” MS NOW president Rebecca Kutler said. “We will continue to research, test, and refine this experience because we want it to be something that our loyal MS NOW fans genuinely love, as well as something that future fans genuinely need.”
Viewers can now watch cable news content from all of the Big Three networks without a pay-TV subscription. After CNN initially launched and closed CNN+ over the course of one month in 2022, the news channel launched its All Access service last October. Fox One — which allows viewers to stream content from Fox News, as well as other Fox-owned channels — recently celebrated one year on the market. So MS NOW is the last of the three major cable news channels to establish a significant streaming presence.
Viewers who want to stream MS NOW with a subscription to a live TV streaming service that allows viewers to watch the channel alongside other cable networks will find it on DIRECTV, Fubo, Hulu + Live TV, Sling TV, or YouTube TV.
