MS NOW Membership plans available with special Founder’s perks
Next month, progressive viewers will be able to stream MS NOW’s news, commentary, and analysis in the run-up to the Midterm Elections.
Last week, cable news network MS NOW announced that it would be joining its chief competitors CNN and Fox News by launching an on-demand streaming service. Since NBCUniversal completed the spinoff of most of its cable channels in January, the left-leaning outlet has been without a substantive streaming presence, as its shows were no longer available on Peacock. However, beginning on Sept. 9, new streamer MS NOW Membership will bring the channel’s shows and more to consumers. Subscriptions are available now, including via the recently announced Founder’s subscription tier.
Key Details:
- Starting price: MS NOW Membership will cost $8 per month, with subscriptions increasing to the $189 per year Founder’s plan.
- Limited time: Through September, the normally $80 annual plan will be available for just $40.
- Founder’s perks: The more expensive Founder tier will include a host of perks for its hefty $189 price tag.
The new platform will cost $8 per month or $80 per year, but customers who subscribe before Sept. 30 can get 50% off the annual plan, bringing their first year of service down to just $40. But act fast, as the introductory offer is only available through the end of September.
MS NOW has also announced a third subscription option that comes with more than the around-the-clock livestream of its cable content, ad-free articles and on-demand video, daily live video Q&As with the channel’s hosts, and community discussions. The annual Founder plan will afford users the opportunity to attend virtual Founders-only town halls as well as
VIP event perks and early ticket access, monthly feedback opportunities, and two free months of meditation app Calm Premium.
The Founder tier will cost $189 per year, but is not part of the 50% off deal that the standard membership annual plan is currently running through the end of next month.
“Our Membership is the first step in a long-term strategy to deepen our relationship with audiences in ways that build on what they already value about MS NOW, while addressing what consumers told us was missing from the news experience,” MS NOW president Rebecca Kutler said. “We will continue to research, test, and refine this experience because we want it to be something that our loyal MS NOW fans genuinely love, as well as something that future fans genuinely need.”
With next month’s launch, news junkies will be able to watch content from all of the Big Three cable news networks without a pay-TV subscription. After CNN initially launched and shuttered CNN+ over the course of one month in 2022, the news channel launched its All Access service last October. Fox One — which allows viewers to stream content from Fox News, as well as other Fox-owned channels — recently celebrated one year on the market.
On Sept. 9, MS NOW will become the last of the three major cable news channels to establish a significant streaming presence, providing progressive viewers the opportunity to stream its news, commentary, and analysis in the run-up to this year’s Midterm Elections.
