NASA launches free streaming channel on Prime Video
NASA+ is always free to stream without a subscription, and now has a new distribution partner.
Prime Video is adding yet another streaming option to its already formidable lineup of content. The streamer sells add-on subscriptions to dozens of other streamers, and this week it is welcoming a new member to the party in NASA+. The space-focused streamer is launching a free ad-supported streaming TV (FAST) channel on Prime Video to help more viewers learn about the science and exploration that the organization is best known for.
Key Details:
- Go live!: The NASA+ FAST channel can be found in the Live TV section of Prime Video.
- The final frontier: The channel includes live launch coverage and much more.
- Always free: Viewers can also watch NASA+ on the streamer’s website without a subscription.
The NASA+ FAST channel is available on Prime Video now. Viewers will find the channel embedded in the Prime Video Live section, where they will also be able to browse a wide selection of other free streaming channels dedicated to news, sports, and entertainment. If you want to find it faster, the NASA+ channel is located in the Learn & Explore tab within the channel guide.
The channel has a wide range of content for all space science lovers to enjoy. It carries live launch coverage, as well as original documentaries about NASA’s most famous missions, family-friendly content that viewers of all ages can enjoy, and more.
“Streaming NASA+ on multiple platforms allows the agency to more efficiently share its missions, from launching astronauts to the International Space Station, to going behind the scenes with the team that defends Earth against asteroids, to showcasing new, high-definition images of the cosmos,” NASA acting associate administrator Wes Brown said. “NASA provides an up-close look at how the agency explores the secrets of the universe for the benefit of all by ensuring content is easily accessible and widely available to the public.”
NASA+ is always free to stream outside the Prime Video ecosystem, as well. Viewers can stream the service free on the NASA website, or download the NASA app and watch it on platforms like Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV, and Roku if they want to stream it with connected TV devices. The service first launched in 2023, and has been delighting fans of space exploration ever since.
