Sports-Focused Live Streaming Fubo Adds YES Network, Broadcast Home of the New York Yankees

The YES Network joins Fubo’s impressive lineup of over 35 regional sports networks in time for MLB Opening Day and the NBA postseason push.

Baseball fans, the day that you have been looking forward to for months is finally here as Opening Day will take place across the league. Along with it comes announcements for new ways that you can watch your favorite teams. On Thursday, the sports-focused live TV streaming service Fubo announced that it was adding yet another regional sports network (RSN) to its expansive list of offerings as the YES Network joins the lineup ahead of the 2024 season.

  • The YES Network joins Fubo’s lineup of over 35 regional sports networks, all on the base Pro plan.
  • New York Yankees and Brooklyn Nets games will be available to stream starting Thursday, March 28.
  • Only fans in the Yankees’ home media market are able to watch the RSN.

On Thursday, Fubo and the YES Network announced that the two sides have agreed to a multi-year deal that will not only allow New York-area sports fans to watch New York Yankees games, but also those of the NBA’s Brooklyn Nets beginning immediately. The YES Network joins Fubo’s impressive slate of over 35 RSNs available to fans. But that’s not the only Major League Baseball action on the streamer as Fubo also provides access to the league’s official out-of-market streamer MLB.TV, as well as MLB Network, [MLB Strike Zone], local broadcast channels that carry MLB games in select markets, and many of the national networks that broadcast games like ESPN and FS1.

“Fubo is thrilled to bring New York Yankees and Brooklyn Nets coverage to fans in the New York City area just in time for the 2024 season,” Fubo SVP Todd Mathers said. “The addition of the YES Network to Fubo’s robust baseball offering - which is broader than any other streaming platform’s - means Yankees fans won’t miss a single pitch on YES. And, as Fubo is the only streaming platform to offer YES in its base plan, everyone in the family can enjoy the sports, news and entertainment content they love at an attractive price point.”

The Bronx Bombers are set to open their 2024 campaign on Thursday, March 28 at 4 p.m. ET against the Houston Astros. The YES Network broadcast will begin with pregame coverage at 3 p.m. ET and the postgame show will follow the conclusion of the game. Fubo subscribers will have access to the channel with the Pro channel plan, which costs $79.99 per month, plus RSN Fees that run from $12-$14 monthly. However, Fubo not only offers a free trial (the length depends on the individual customer), but the service also currently is offering $20 off your first month of service. So, you can watch the first month of the Yankees’ season for as little as $72.

“We are excited to reach an agreement with Fubo to bring YES and our best-in-class New York Yankees and Brooklyn Nets coverage to Fubo subscribers,” YES Network CEO Jon Litner said. “As interest in the Yankees continues to soar as we approach Opening Day and the team’s pursuit of its 28th World Series championship, Fubo streaming customers will now enjoy YES’ Emmy Award-winning Yankees coverage all season long.”

In a given year, Fubo broadcasts more than 55,000 live sporting events, many of which stream in 4K. With its robust collection of RSNs, Fubo is able to offer sports fans something that most other live streamers cannot. While DIRECTV STREAM has slightly more RSNs, they are offered only in a $29-per-month add-on package; Fubo’s RSNs are available on its base-level Pro plan. No matter which service you select to watch your RSNs, keep in mind that these are regional sports networks, and they are only available to view in the specific media market that they cover. So Yankees fans in Arizona won’t be able to watch the YES Network on Fubo, DIRECTV STREAM, or any other outlet.

However, there is still an option, as MLB.TV offers complete access to every locally broadcast game to out-of-market fans.

How Can I Watch Every New York Yankee Game in the 2024 Season?

As one of Major League Baseball’s blue-blood franchises, the Yankees’ games are often spread across numerous broadcasters every season. Not only are they often picked up for nationally televised broadcasts by networks like ESPN, Fox, FS1, MLB Network, and TBS, but they are also featured heavily in Apple TV+’s “Friday Night Baseball” package. The Yanks open Apple’s season on Friday, March 29 against the Astros and will air on the streaming platform two more times in the first half of the season.

Additionally, 21 regular-season Yankees games will air exclusively on Prime Video. These games will be produced by the YES Network, featuring their broadcast team of Michael Kay and rotating former Yankees as analysis including David Cone, Paul O’Neill, Joe Girardi, John Flaherty, and Jeff Nelson.

Like the YES Network games on Fubo, the Prime Video games will only be available to fans in the New York media market. For anyone living outside the team’s footprint wanting to check out how the Bombers are doing, they can watch out-of-market games on MLB.TV.

Fubo

Fubo is a live TV streaming service with about 90 top channels that start at $79.99 per month. This plan includes local channels, 25 of the top 35 cable channels, and regional sports networks (RSNs). In total, you should expect to pay about $91.99 per month, after adding in their RSN Fee. Fubo was previously known as “fuboTV.”

The streaming service does not carry channels from WarnerMedia-owned (CNN, TBS, and TNT), A+E (A&E, History Channel, and Lifetime), and AMC Networks (AMC, BBC America, and WE tv). So, in our experience, if you are looking to watch the NBA, which heavily plays on TBS and TNT, you may want to look at another live TV streaming provider.

But for other sports fans, especially those who want to stream local sports, Fubo is a great option in our opinion. They recently announced adding Bally Sports RSNs to their channel lineup and it is the least expensive option to get RSNs in many markets like Altitude, AT&T Sports, Fox Sports, Marquee, MSG, NBC Sports, and NESN. (Take a look at the full list of Fubo’s sports channels.)

Fubo also includes MLB Network, NBA TV, NFL Network, NFL RedZone , NHL Network, and beIN Sports (which is not available on most services). You can add Fox Soccer Plus as part of the International Sports Plus add-on for $6/month.

You can add the fubo Extra ($8) to add ~43 channels including Cooking Channel and GSN.

The addition of YES further solidifies Fubo’s position as the home for local sports. Fubo’s leading sports o, and over 35 regional sports networks in its base package at the lowest cost compared to other streaming options. Fubo is also the streaming leader in Major League Baseball coverage carrying MLB.TV, MLB Network, MLB Strike Zone, regional sports networks (RSNs), local broadcast networks and national sports networks ESPN and FS1. In addition to its leading sports coverage, Fubo also streams popular live entertainment and news programming and features more than 40,000 TV shows and movies on-demand each month.
