Peacock joins YouTube TV Primetime Channels
The announced split of NBCUniversal from Comcast isn’t slowing down new distribution partnerships at Peacock.
The winds of change are blowing at gale force for Peacock. The streaming service will be spun off with the rest of NBCUniversal’s assets, as Comcast announced this week. But it’s full steam ahead as far as content distribution partnerships where the streamer is concerned; Peacock has announced it will launch a STARZ add-on option, and will also begin selling its ad-free plan in the YouTube TV Primetime Channels store.
Key Details:
- Ready for primetime: YouTube TV’s Primetime Channels will distribute Peacock’s Premium Plus plan going forward.
- Planned move: Peacock’s inclusion in YouTube TV’s digital store was part of the carriage deal between the streamer and Comcast last year.
- Less apps, more fun: The move allows subscribers to cut down on the number of apps they have to use.
Peacock’s ad-free Premium Plus plan is now available on YouTube TV Primetime Channel. This platform allows customers to subscribe to additional services and watch their content in the YouTube app. Peacock Premium Plus costs $17 per month and includes all sports offered by the streamer, as well as ad-free playback on most on-demand content.
The addition of Peacock to YouTube TV Primetime Channels was part of a carriage deal struck between YouTube TV and Comcast in late 2025 that narrowly averted a channel blackout on the platform. Now, the rollout of Peacock on YouTube TV is officially underway.
Peacock has been allowing its ad-free plan to be sold on more and more distribution platforms of late. In 2025, the streamer announced a deal with Prime Video to let that service sell Peacock Premium Plus subscriptions. Unlike other platforms, customers who sign up for Peacock through Prime Video get a seven-day free trial.
The recent moves by Peacock give its customers more ways to watch the streamer’s content alongside that of other platforms while using fewer apps. Customers can watch STARZ content through the Peacock app without switching apps now, and YouTube TV customers can get Peacock’s ad-free titles through the YouTube app without having to change over as well. It all adds up to less friction for viewers and more time spent watching instead of navigating around smart TV menus.
It could be just the beginning of partnership moves for Peacock, as well. The streamer’s parent company NBCUniversal is being split from its corporate overlord Comcast, which means a future of mergers and acquisitions is quite possible. For now, however, fans will have to content themselves with the ability to stream Peacock’s Premium Plus plan via YouTube TV Primetime Channels.
